What Is Self Transfer Protection?

Self Transfer Protection is a special protection from PT Great Eastern General Insurance Indonesia for your multi-airline flights. 

 

It protects you if you miss your connecting flight because of a delay, reschedule, or cancellation from one of the airlines. So, if there are extra fees or non-refundable tickets that the airline won't cover, you can claim them.

 

This protection also covers flight delays and cancellations, accidents, and baggage issues. You don't need to worry, as this this protection is automatically included in selected domestic and international multi-airline flights that involve transfers.

  1. What is Self Transfer Protection?
    Self Transfer Protection is a special insurance for multi-airline flights, both domestic and international. It protects you if you miss your connecting flight due to a delay, reschedule, or cancellation from one of the airlines.This insurance also covers other travel disruptions like delays, cancellations, accidents, and baggage issues. It is provided by PT Great Eastern General Insurance Indonesia and made specially for tiket.com users.
     
  2. How can I obtain Self Transfer Protection?
    You can get Self Transfer Protection when you book a flight with transit and "Self Transfer" benefit.
     
  3. How does this Self Transfer Protection cover my trip?
    This Self Transfer Protection guarantees coverage for risks affecting you and any other passengers you register at the time of purchasing the insurance policy as the insured. Specifically, for benefits related to Trip Cancellation and Trip Delay (by the passenger), coverage begins from the date of purchase (up to 30 calendar days) prior to the departure date. Other guarantees commence 6 (six) hours before and continue for 6 (six) hours before the completion of the departure. Therefore, if the insured suffers a loss as outlined in this Self Transfer Protection, PT. Great Eastern General Insurance Indonesia will provide the benefits to the insured or their heirs.
     
  4. Who can purchase Self Transfer Protection?
    This Self Transfer Protection is only applicable to Indonesian citizens (WNI) or foreign citizens (WNA) / KITAS / KITAP who are at least 15 (fifteen) days old and up to a maximum age of 85 (eighty-five) years at the time of departure. Children under 18 (eighteen) years old must be accompanied by a family member or authorized guardian during travel.
     
  5. What are the benefits of Self Transfer Protection?

  6. Is there a deductible that I have to charge?
    None.
     
  7. What are the exclusions of Self Transfer Protection?

  8. How do I apply for a claim?
    Claims reporting can be done by accessing the Online Claim Portal at m.tiket.com/insurance-claim. For more details, please refer to the Claims Services section.
     
  9. Is there a deadline for filing a claim?
    You must file a claim within 30 (thirty) calendar days from the date of the incident or as soon as possible thereafter, accompanied by the necessary claims documents and/or evidence required by PT Great Eastern General Insurance Indonesia to facilitate the claims verification process within 7 (seven) working days from the date of the claim submission. Any costs incurred to obtain these documents or evidence are your responsibility as the insured.
     
  10. How long does it take to process a claim payment?
    Claim payments will be processed by PT. Great Eastern General Insurance Indonesia to the insured within a maximum of 7 (seven) working days from the date PT Great Eastern General Insurance Indonesia receives the signed Letter of Discharge submitted through the Online Claim Portal for the Self Transfer Protection benefits.
     
  11. How will I receive my claim payment?
    Once the claim is approved by PT Great Eastern General Insurance Indonesia, the claim payment will be made via transfer to your bank account, for the amount approved by PT Great Eastern General Insurance Indonesia.
     
  12. How does the Insured receive the claim payment?
    The claim will be paid to the bank account registered at the time of claim submission. However, if the bank account number is invalid or not a Rupiah-denominated account, and the Insured does not reconfirm within 90 days, the payment will be converted into Blibli Tiket Points.
