1. New Year 2025 (January 1)
The New Year 2025 falls on Monday, January 1. Usually, the beginning of the year has been celebrated since the end of the year. On this sacred night, the Prophet Muhammad received a direct order from Allah to perform the 5 daily prayers. In Indonesia, Isra Miraj is celebrated as a national holiday. 3. Chinese New Year 2025 (January 29)
The next national holiday is Chinese New Year, which is a holiday for the Chinese community. TThe date of Chinese New Year changes annually due to the lunisolar calendar, which combines the cycles of the moon and sun. Generally, Chinese New Year is celebrated for 15 days, starting from Chinese New Year to Yuan Xiao or Cap Go Meh. This festive season is marked by family gatherings, visits to ancestral graves, and enjoying traditional dishes like kue keranjang (glutinous rice cake), mandarin oranges, and any sweets. The celebrations also include the tradition of giving angpao (red envelopes) to unmarried family members, decorating homes with all-red ornaments, and lighting fireworks. Following the Chinese New Year, comes the collective leave. 4. Nyepi Day 2025 (March 29)
Hari Raya Nyepi is a Hindu New Year in Balines Saka calendar that is celebrated annually in March or April. The word nyepi comes from Sanskrit, meaning “silent” or “serene”. This tradition dates back for centuries since 78 AD and is deeply rooted in Balinese culture. In 2025, Nyepi Day falls on March 29. In addition to religious ceremonies, Nyepi Day is also synonymous with the Ogoh Ogoh Parade which takes place the night before and also Omed-Omedan which is done after. 10. Birth of Pancasila Day 2025 (June 1)

12. Eid al-Adha 2025 (June 6)

In Indonesia, there are various celebrations and traditions as a form of joy for the birth of the Prophet. One of the most popular is the Sekaten ceremony held at the Yogyakarta Palace and Surakarta Palace. Sekaten takes place from 5 to 12 Rabiul Awal with various stages.
