Air China

Air China Limited is a national airline and one of the leading airlines of the People's Republic of China, with its headquarters in the Shunyi District, Beijing, and based at the Beijing Capital International Airport. Air China is a subsidiary of China National Aviation Holding, a Chinese state-owned company engaged in aviation.

The Air China company logo is depicted with Phoenix, a legendary bird worshiped by the Chinese state since ancient times as a symbol of luck and happiness. The airline has the vision to be "the world's leading operator" and a mission that emphasizes "operational safety, customer orientation, stable growth, human resource development, and fulfillment of responsibilities."

Air China was established and began operations on July 1, 1988, as a result of the Chinese government's decision in late 1987 to divide the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC Airlines) operating division into six separate airlines, namely Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, North China, Southwest China, and Northwest China. Air China was given primary responsibility for intercontinental flights and taking over aircraft and CAAC long-distance routes (Boeing 747, 767 and 707).

As of June 30, 2019, Air China (including its parent company) had a total of 676 aircraft of various types, mainly Boeing and Airbus, with an average age of 6.81 years. The company's passenger routes have been expanded to 766, consisting of 132 international, 29 regional, and 605 domestic routes. The company flies to 41 countries (regions) and 190 cities, including 67 global towns, three areas, and 120 municipalities. Through its collaboration with other Star Alliance member airlines, the company's route network has expanded to 1,317 destinations in 193 countries.
