China Airlines

China Airlines is Taiwan's national airline and is one of the two major airlines together with China Airlines. The airline is headquartered at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and operates services of more than 1400 flights each week (including 91 cargo flights) to 102 cities throughout Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania.

China Airlines was founded on December 16, 1959, from the idea of ​​a retired air force officer. Starting operations as a charter flight service, China Airlines finally set its first scheduled route in 1962, with flights from Taipei to Hualien, which became the airline's first domestic service. After nearly half a century of providing services in the aviation industry, today, China Airlines offers flights to 145 destinations in 29 countries worldwide, including ten cities in Europe, 81 cities in Asia, 42 cities in America, and 7 Oceania routes. Meanwhile, the domestic route covers five destinations in Taiwan. China Airlines also has a cargo service, offering services on routes similar to its international flights.

China Airlines has three airline subsidiaries, namely China Airlines Cargo, which is a member of SkyTeam Cargo, Mandarin Airlines, which operates flights to domestic and low-demand regional destinations, and Tigerair Taiwan, which is a low-cost airline established by China Airlines and Singapore airline group Tigerair Holdings. China Airlines joined the global alliance SkyTeam on September 14, 2010, and officially became a full member on September 28, 2011. China Airlines is the first Taiwanese airline to join the airline alliance.
