We spent two nights here. The location was excellent, with many eateries nearby and an easy walk to the castle and surrounding area. A short tram ride from the or station to the hotel and a short tram ride from the hotel to Suizenji keen. We visited the city on March 27 sakura day, apparently the season was earlier this year than average. We reserved a Japanesestyle room and were delighted with it. It had all the anticipated facilities, including two cookies to accompany the tea we could make with the hot water that was supplied every day. Our meals were not taken at the hotel. The hotel advertises itself as being 120 years old and was constructed in 188, but the structure we stayed in was considerably older than that and is described on their website as being renovated in 1996. Our accommodation overlooked the hotel on a quiet side street. Even though there was a group of Korean athletes there when we were out on our way to dinner, the room itself was quiet. There is also a private area on that level, which could be the proprietor's dwelling area. The family bath was a completely different entity with a sliding door, entrance area, toilet, and bathing area, all of the facilities were readily available. We were instructed to write a label on the door, which we presumed to be in use. A sliding door led to a balcony in the bathroom area, but there was an apartment

I arrived without a reservation, but that was not an issue. The two motorcycles could be parked next to the door. We booked the room only because there are many good restaurants in the neighborhood. Tatami room was large enough for two people. Ofuro was on the top floor. Nice enough for a middle class hotel. Staff were very friendly. The location is great, the castle is within walking distance, and there are many shops and restaurants around the corner.
