I have heard, many times in the past, that a destination is not about the place itself, but its people. Only after staying in this particular hotel that I truly understand what it meant. While the establishment may give one the impression of one of those common chain-brand hotel, it is in reality, the truest hidden gem. For start, the hotel is located only few metres close to the entrance of an alleyway, by the main road. Very close to the Gate Night Market, and if you are a walker, then you can easily walk to a number of famous sites, like Wat Rajamontean, Silver Temple as well as the Chiang Mai Gate itself. Breakfast was very deceiving. It looked so ordinary, but tasted HEAVENLY! There was free beverage refrigerator as well as coffee machine! Very clean room, with expected amenities! But the crown jewels are the staff! The staff are very friendly, and kind, and helpful. Very knowledgable too. One of the staff speaks English and Korean fluently and he even went on to explain the dish served at the breakfast buffet. Another lady always so helpful in offering us coffees, and asked about our plan of the day, and she even offered to help calling the tour we booked in Thai should we faced any difficulties. A staff named Fu, remembered my friend's birthday. He also explained very detail about the market, the alms round tradition, and nearby sights. I have stayed in many five-star hotels previously. But NONE, has come even close to the legendary service provided by the staff at BED Chiang Mai Gate. I come to realise, that how wonderful a trip is not really measured by the sights you tick, the shopping you do, the bargain you get. But rather how the people you meet make you feel. Many thanks to the staff at this hotel for making my Chiang Mai trip so magical!

Such a beautiful hotel with art collections as its prop. Locsted inside the old town part of Chiang Mai, near Wat Chedi Luang and quite strategic location. The hotel provides laundry by kilogram, which is the best highlight service for me

Overall pretty okay, it’s pretty old inn but pretty much okay. They downside was the fact that they didn’t have any lift/elevator, therefore, be prepared to take your own luggage through the stairs.

The location is great. Its super near the sunday night market, walking distance to a lot of cafes and restaurants. The rooms were ok, although it could probably be cleaner. We got there shortly before 6pm, but no one was there. However the owner/PIC responded quickly and well when we called. We were guided to take our own keys to the allocated room. Make sure to check what time you’ll get there and let them know first just to be sure and safe. They provide free grab n go breakfast. Bread, butter, jam, tea&coffee are provided daily. Overall, i think this place is a great deal for the price!
