Went to the restaurant with my wife and two kids (16 and 21). Arrived and waited at the 'please wait to be seated sign'. The restaurant was approx. 25% full, so not busy. After a wait of approx. 5 mins a server arrived, we advised that we had a reservation. There was no smile, welcome or even a comment. She turned on her heal, and disappeared, apparently, we were to follow her, although we were not asked to do so. We waited. She returned with a really annoyed look on her face and waved in the direction of a group of tables and said "there". I asked which table, she rolled her eyes and said in a sarcastic manner ' the one with the plates'. The passive aggression was palpable.
I am not easily annoyed, but this was too much, even for me.
I asked to speak to the manager and was told that she was the manager! I asked to speak to her supervisor and was told that there was nobody. She then said a very short and without conviction ‘sorry’ then walked away. It seemed like customers were a real inconvenience. I noted that she stayed in the background for the rest of our time there.
It spoilt what should have been a pleasant experience for my family.
The waitstaff on our table were great - but the damage had been done.
