My husband and I stayed at Seashells Fremantle a couple of nights before we were to board the Queen Mary 2. At 6.26am we received a message from Cunard saying they weren’t boarding any passengers that day due to the virus. Needless to say we were disappointed and a bit distraught, especially as we’d flown across from Sydney. Linden at the front desk was fantastic and empathetic. He immediately asked if we’d like to stay on while we worked out what next. He blocked out a few nights for us and was happy to do so for other guests who were also supposed to sail. We told him we really wanted to have a relaxing holiday as we’d been dealing with the fires and the loss of our house. When we explained what we were looking for Linden had a number of helpful suggestions, one of which was Seashells Broome, which we have since booked. While the hotel was perfect for us and we’d stay there again, it was Linden and his lovely, calm, friendly, empathetic demeanour we appreciated the most. I hope his boss reads this and gives him a pat on the back, and a raise!
