Dog friendly place with stunning architecture in the heart of Wien. Plenty of free parking. 24/7 reception, polite and helpful service and staff. Good food. Absolutely amazing architecture neo-Empire style. Good size garden you can walk your dog. Nice quite location. Big windows and stunning views. Perfect bed and mattress my wife has a back pain and she said she slept like a baby there. If you are offended by small imperfections in an old building don't go there. Other then that it was the most beautiful place I have ever visited.

This hotel is situated on top of Wilhelminenberg in Vienna and it was converted from a small palace into a hotel - hence the name Schloss meaning Palace/Manor in german. - location - on top of a hill, on the side of Vienna but even that is not central you only drive 15 minutes to the city center - so it's fairly close and bus station is right outside the entrance to the palace courtyard and at the reception you can get the Vienna Card for public transportation. - service - reception staff very friendly and professional - check in/check out very fast not more than 10 min and no issue in using credit card. - room - was on the 1st floor and since it was converted from the original palace room being very tall the layout was kind of interesting - we had staircase to get to the bed. Otherwise the room was spacious and clean, AC was working nice , bathroom kind of small with shower booth - nonetheless again clean and we got all that we were needing. Safe was available in the room and a kind of poor minibar - but it was there. - breakfast - a good selection of local treats - nothing to complain on those aspects. - hotel grounds have a lot of green area - park to walk or have some jogging - beware of the honey bee quarter - it can be dangerous if you get too close. - parking - plenty of spots and free of charge for the hotel guests. Overall a nice hotel - a very good stay - for our 3 nights stay was more than enough - I recommend you try it.

We did a 12 day drive UK to Vienna and back and this was the low point of the trip - the title 'Think Britannia Hotels' - relates to a company in the UK that has bought dilapidated down at heel hotels that the previous owners have decided that they can ill afford to modernise - and are operating at discount prices - if you scratch enough below the rot you can sniff the grandeur of once.. The garden was magnificent once - now it more akin to a sheep meadow -'Nothing wrong with sheep' I here from the Welsh quarter. The restaurant is a gazebo on the terrace, the waiters and the food came from somewhere else ..avoid the 'Wilhelminenberg' dessert - at the price one would expected something special.. cardboard would have been better.. a bit like the rest of the hotel dead on it's feet. Take a day out and visit Gasthof Lobmeyer in Roding, this was the hotel we stayed the day before - the chocolate fondue desert was to die for .. ..oh..and do not offer to pay with credit cards - major sulks - but happy to take the payment by card at checkout. The room was interesting with excellent views of Vienna City - BUT unbearably hot. there is plenty of free parking and it only took 15 minutes to drive to the city. but not enough pluses to make it an even slightly enjoyable stay. As an Austrian friend said this is not a good hotel - how right they are - but it was cheap and ... but alas not cheerful

Stayed for 2 nights in this hotel. Unusual room layout with the bed on a mezzanine floor above the lounge area. Nice big windows with a great view over Vienna. Fast check in, plenty of free parking spaces, good breakfast, close to a bus stop for quick transfer to the city centre. Only criticism is that the hotel needs a social gathering point such as a bar to relax in the evening !

Hi all, Getting here was like trying to get in the past, see how royals were living. If you enter the hallway you will find the red carpet stairs that lead to the first floor in another big room like a ballroom. Inside the rooms the bed was upstairs (you will have stairs inside the room to get in the bed) above the bathroom. Clearly the castle had bigger tall rooms and they divided them and build bathrooms and up the bed. Anyway it was a pleasure to see Vienna from the room, to see Schoenbrunn Palace from the room.
