We had stayed 3 nights in Tarija at the Terravina Hotel. Due to a booking error by the airline, we had to stay 1 more night and decided to go to Los Parrales. For only US$5 more than a night at Terravina, we were delighted at this spacious, elegant, five-star hotel. Our room was large and spotlessly clean, with a spacious, well-appointed bathroom, and a lovely balcony overlooking the gardens. Staff were gracious and helpful. At the restaurant, our waiter Alex was professional and knowledgeable, and we enjoyed the best meal of our stay in Tarija.
Be sure to walk around the grounds and gardens, and say hello to the 2 resident macaws (parrots)!
The hotel is some distance from downtown, so it's necessary to rely on taxis. But that's a good thing, too, because the hotel is in a lovely, secluded, quiet setting overlooking the Guadalquivir River. We would most definitely stay here again on a future trip to Tarija.
