This is a beautiful hotel with an excellent location on the shore of Lake Titicaca. Each room has a different design but all have decorations based on indigenous designs. They truly want you to enjoy the view- the wall of the bathroom facing the lake is glass!
The many side streets around the hotel are filled with vendors selling hats, scarves, ponchos, jewelry and other items. The town square is nearby and there’s a marketplace by the Basilica as well.
Breakfast was included in our room rate- there was a good selection of fruits and breads and plentiful coffee. Hot dishes included scrambled eggs and sautéed vegetables. Dinners (not included in the room rate) were excellent.
I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned a gift shop in a hotel review before, but this one had a wide variety of local items at really reasonable prices.
One caveat from someone with a TERRIBLE sense of direction: the road on which the hotel is located has a clear sign when you’re coming up from the beach (a blessing in Bolivia) but the hotel itself is not well-marked. Make a note of landmarks as you exit on the road down to the beach so you can find it again!
Our visit was in the middle of the Corona virus panic and our travel plans were changing daily as countries shut their airports to passengers from other countries- even those just transiting through. It was a blessing to be in a peaceful hotel in a relaxing location in the midst of the uncertainty.
