We enjoyed our stay at the lodge. The location close to the river was very good, the rooms clean and well maintained. The staff was very helpful, especially as we arrived very late during our second stay and they helped us to return our rental car early the next day.

The place is nice. Very comfortable thatched chalets with hot water & shower. Beautiful view of the Chobe river from the chalets. Well maintained lawn. However they do not have room service for food. Found that annoying. Sometimes you are tired & just want to order food directly to your room.

After we had visited really excellent, pleasant, warm and friendly lodges in Namibia this accommodation was a little disappointing. When we drove from Kasane to Kazangula ferry, in the direction where we expected to find the lodge according to written information, we noticed a small sign. When we followed this we finally reached the lodge via a number of secondary poor roads without any further additional signs/information. Later we noticed that the main and considerably shorter route leading to the loge was somewhat further in the Kazangula direction, as indicated by a large, clear board. So why this first sign? Why do you confuse your visitors? On arrival the staff at the reception reacted somewhat cool and chaotic and seemed not very adequate. First we were informed that we had not booked, later this was a mistake. We were not informed about local activity options such as a Chobe river cruise or a visit of Vic Falls, but when we persistently informed this was all possible. We must say that the Chobe boat trip was interesting. However, the difference with 19 years ago, when we also visited Kasane and made an evening boat trip, was enormous. At that time there were 2 of maybe 3 boats on the river, now probably at least 30! Nevertheless, it was nice and interesting. We also booked a trip to Vic Falls, and this also went well. We stayed in a room inside a building with about 6 rooms, without terrace or any view or possibility to sit outside our room, really disappointing considering the really attractive location of the lodge along the river. We did not have dinner at the lodge; breakfast was rather austere. Sorry, it is difficult to be very enthusiastic about this lodge.

We stayed here for 3 nights after having visited Moremi and Chobe game reserves. The staff were really friendly and we enjoyed a lovely river cruise organised by the lodge. We were also happy with the Vic Falls day trip they organised with Honeymoon Tours. The rooms were comfortable(once we figured out where the light switches were!) and clean and we got everything we needed. The restaurant was unfortunately disappointing. The first 2 nights we had no other choice than the buffet since there was a large French tour groupwhich needed to be fed. The food was okay, but we had to rely on the serving staff to tell us what there was to eat since the lighting was so bad that we could not see a thing of what was in the serving dishes! We were looking forward to the last night to order dishes from the a la carte menu, but got the disappointing news that they didn't have any of the seafood dishes and neither some of the other items on the menu. The chicken and t-bine stake was quite tasty, but a little hard to cut my way through a piece of steak with an ordinary table knife. All in all we did enjoy our stay here. We even got to see a bushbuck which we had no luck seeing in Moreni or Chobe! And as I already mentioned, the staff were really friendly and helpful.

Our next stop on our safari trek was to the Chobe Lodge in the Chobe National Park Reserve. We got there by taking another bushwacker prop plane from the Okavango Delta to Chobe. Not a bad flight, and even got to sleep on the plane for a while. Chobe is noted for its amount of elephants, as well as the other mammals. We were told that there were 60,000 elephants in the Chobe Park, and it seems like we saw a majority of them. But it never got boring to see the herds, frolicking in the water, escorting their babies, feeding, and on and on. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food, which was all inclusive, (as were the drinks) was always plentiful, varied and excellent. Our Guide was a little new at tracking, and we did not go off road to chase the mammals. It is possible that Chobe does not allow off roading. The mammals were plentiful. On the boat ride, we would see herds of elephants at the watering areas, plenty of impala, baboons, hippos, crocs, warthogs, but no rhinos. The rooms were very comfortable. We had a room near the dining area and did not have to be escorted, like other guests (to protect from animals.)
