I stay in this hotel on a monthly basis spending about $500 each time in the hotel and adjoining restaurant. They bill our company direct. Historically, this has been a smooth process but this week, I started to notice a change in the restaurant... a change of attitude (for the worse) and a change in the amount of food offered on the buffet. Most of the employees know me and greet me but this time, everyone was almost rude... especially from one of the managers who was working a group dinner one night.
this whole situation came to a head when I went to check out... the man at the reception desk started to tell me that I had to pay for the meals in the restaurant, which I could have done, but I knew better... they had always billed the home office for all my charges. So he backed down but demanded that I pay the tip that was automatically added to my bill... again, I knew historically they had always billed the home office. Again, I could have paid it, no problem, but I did not like this guys attitude, so I decided to call the home office and let him talk to our executive assistant, who arranges all these details.
In the end, the primary problem that I had with this visit was the poor attitudes displayed by the restaurant manager and the reception desk. In the end, I told the guy that we need to find another hotel, and he blew it off. So that's exactly what I intend to do.
