The hotel is in the centre of the city, right across from the main square, and close to bars, restaurants and shops. The room we had was large, clean and spacious and overlooked a pedestrian mall (which was a little noisy in the mornings). The only (constructive) criticism is that there was no kettle or other facilities for guests to make their own hot drinks, and the room could do with more seating.
Non Chileans should ensure that they ask for the account in USD when they checkout.
The hotel appears to include the (substantial) IVA tax if the account is in Chilean Pesos (and perhaps in any other currency). When I first went to pay, the invoice came to over 85,000 CLP and included IVA, but when I asked for a USD invoice, the I13,672 CLP IVA disappeared. The hotel staff did not point this out to me, which I think they should have, and I believe that IVA should not be charged for any Non Resident using a foreign credit card, irrespective of the currency.
