And so I was told ..... Saturday Feb 13th 2021, 17:00 arriving for check in. Queue of around 10 people. I asked a "security" guy that if there is a special line for Accor Gold members, I showed him my card and he said " that card is useless. Just queue up" ... I waited for my "turn" for 25 minutes and upon arriving at front desk I asked them if this Novotel honors the Gold card for check in. They said " of course, but nobody told us you are gold member " ... To which I replied " you must train better your staff" ... That security guy had an attitude of a night club guard rather than a hotel. Besides that, while at the queue, there was a table with Covid form to be "filled up by guest" (as per its tittle). I saw people at front desk took time to fill it up so I thought would be better to grab one and fill it up while waiting (so to save time). Again, the "friendly security " guy told me " what are you doing. This is not for you ", to which I said " this is the same form that people in front of me is filling up". His answer was " this is not for you " and rip it off from my hand.... Again, an attitude of a guardian dog rather than a bouncer, concierge or security guy at hotel ...... Having ruined our check in process, the staff at from desk, was profesional, fast and attentive. Basically doing their job professionally . This is a 2-3 years hotel. The room was ok for a Novotel, could not visit the spa or pool due to covid. Breakfast, as most places in Chile, was low quality, basic and with very little options. Long queue as well but this was due to covid restrictions and procedures.
