There is usually a certain level of user friendliness attached to a five star hotel. This is often the difference between Chinese hotel brands and International ones.. I was therefore surprised on arriving here, especially straight after leaving the Kempinski in Fuzhou.
Checking in late at night after a long day of travelling can be stressful. As I arrived, the immediate reaction from reception was an audible "oh my God" as she took my passport and then totally ignored me preferring to focus totally on my companion. No welcome, no information at all. This lead to confusion over whether breakfast had been prepaid or not, leading to my partner not getting anything to eat. Such a shame as the breakfast was top notch. Nice hotel, great location, why not train the staff better?
