I have to say for a Hilton hotel, this hotel is much more local standard that it is ranked to be. The service at the front desk was pretty good and the service in the breakfast buffet was very good. The staff tried their best to be helpful and friendly, and this is the saving grace for the hotel.
It amazes me that Doubletree by Hilton has ignore all of the complaints about the swim caps in the pool. We went in thinking they relaxed the rules, and there was only two of us using the pool the whole time we were there. As soon as we got in the pool, a pool cleaner ran over and yelled across the pool that we have to get out and put a cap on. We asked for him to retrieve them for us, and he said "go buy them yourselves!" He then sat "on guard" the whole time we swam, and only left when we left.
After our swim, I ordered room service". I was greeted with a "Sorry, my English not good." That was the end of any thought of ordering room service.
Despite being low season we were placed in room furthest from the facilities. This made for a very long walk down three corridors to reach the lift. On top of this, the bathroom drains reeked of sewage every morning.
There was very weak internet service in the rooms, and we had to go to the lobby for stable service. There was a network wire, but it provided no service.
The last comment of service is when we asked the staff at the entrance to call for a taxi, we were told the only option was a "black taxi" run by two non-staff lurking around the entrance. We were charged three times a metered taxi (we took on back) by this woman and were continuously harassed about hiring her for the remainder of our stay.
If you are looking for a comfortable bed and some decent views, I recommend this hotel. If you are looking for Hilton service, for a premium price... you won't get the service, but you will get the premium price.
