最好接触自然与人文的地方。最美的体验,感受最真实的大自然,重走滇缅公路和史迪公路让历史与你相遇,与人类的双面教科书来一个最近距离的拥抱

The camp consists of luxury safari-style tents set on wooden boardwalks nestled among tree tops, all supported by 10-meter-high steel scaffolding. The tents are weather-proof, insulated, supplied with electrical power, water and comfortable furniture, and each has a fully functional bathroom in a separated compartment. This unique design allows the camp to blend in with the surroundings: It is on the edge of a national nature preserve, where zoning laws forbid real buildings. The camp has gone to extraordinary lengths to protect the environment: All cooking is done with electrical appliances, all trash gets carried out, human waste is treated on site, and there was minimal clearing of trees during camp construction. So the camp is entirely immersed in nature but with the convenience of modern amenities. The service and the food were excellent, considering how remote the place is. While we were there wind blew hard at night, rocking the tent and making it rattle, squeak and moan, a natural part of the wilderness experience. The starry skies were beautiful. Despite all the positives, however, we really didn't enjoy the overall experience as much as we thought we would. First, the location. There are few direct flights from major cities to Tengchong; most people have a layover in Kunming. Then it's a 75-minute drive from Tengchong Airport to Xiaodifang Village, where a camp van shuttles guests over an unpaved and very bumpy road to the camp, which takes another 25 minutes. We had to get up at 5am in Shanghai to catch our outbound flight; it was 5pm when we set foot in the reception tent. Second, and more importantly, after the initial excitement wore off, the place felt, even to a nature lover like myself, a bit boring. It was good to be surrounded by forest, but the views were mostly nondescript. The resort itself is closed off by design, being elevated some 10 meters off the ground with access through steep staircases or drawbridges. The staff always asked to escort us whenever we wanted to go outside the camp, for our own safety and for the protection of the nature preserve. The only interesting activity was hiking, which I'm a fan of, but the two hikes we went on were underwhelming in terms of scenery, wildlife and general excitement. And then there's the price. The standard rate at the time of our stay was about USD $600 a night, all meals included. That was steep considering the total experience. Overall this resort may make sense as part of a trip to the Tengchong area, a 1- to 2-night stay away from the more touristy places; I wouldn't go there as a stand-alone destination.
