We only stayed one night but the hotel is in dire need of updating. The room was small and the bathroom tiny. Couldn’t imagine staying more than 1-2 nights. We stayed here to catch our bora bora flight the next morning. The breakfast buffet had great variety and a Tahitian show which was fun. We didn’t use the pool but also looked like it needed some TLC

Clean old classic Polynesian feel .wonderful breakfast buffet w your own tongs .we swam in lagoon and pool and walked the property admiring the fish/the water/crabs/birds /boats. Towel service does not start early, no robes or hair dryer in room which I would’ve enjoyed. Perhaps a few beach towels in each room would be nice for an evening or early morning swim. View of Moorea is beautiful . Check in and out is a bit of a traffic jam and the shuttles to one lane road to rooms is also a little right but charming. Great if lobby had drinks flowing/complimentary water or juice or cool Towel and lei greeting. Hotel arranged transport for us to and from Airport and ferry which was helpful. United crew stayed here we noticed . Mix of Americans/Europeans and locals

Okay, we weren't sure what we would get here. I've read many glowing and not so favorable reviews. We must have lucked out. We had a great stay and we wish we would have stayed here longer instead of the higher priced Hilton on Moorea. The pools are lovely and the grounds are beautiful. The Tiki Bar is over the top cool. Our room was nice and clean, yet the cardboard ceilings let you hear every movement of your upstairs neighbors. This is especially bad when they arrive from an international flight at 5 in the morning. Something to consider when booking or asking for a floor. All of the staff we very friendly and welcoming. We arranged for a late checkout for a nominal fee since we had a late international flight. That was greatly appreciated. It is within a 4 minute cab ride from the airport. If you get a good price, it's a great place to stay. It's cheaper than staying on Moorea, so if you are frugal, stay here and day trip to Moorea. Killer sunsets. Oh, get their chicken wings (Texas platter). Fantastic.

My wife and I stayed at the InterContinental during our arrival into French Polynesia. As our flight arrived later in the night, we were unable to transfer directly to any other islands. We spent the night at the hotel here and it was perfect, this seems to be a very common thing for a lot of people; the staff checked us in quickly, we were in our room in less than 10 minutes after walking into the lobby. It was very smooth, the room was spacious and after a long flight, the bed was comfortable. We had breakfast at the buffet the next morning before checkout and it hit the spot. The hotel is about 5 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from the downtown Papeete ferry terminal. I would recommend to anyone arriving later in the night into Tahiti.

This was are 3rd trip to French Polynesia, and our 3rd 1-night stay at the Intercontinental Tahiti. Because our flights from US have always arrived in the evening, we always had a night in Tahiti on arrival. In our previous 2 trips, we had Panoramic garden view rooms (standard room offered in the Costco packages). On this trip we decided to move up to a Superior Over-water Lagoon Bungalow. In past trips we had a morning ferry to Moorea, so upgrading did not make sense for less than 12 hr stay. On this trip, we had a late afternoon flight to Raiatea, so we figured we would upgrade since we had more time at the resort. Additionally, this room type has its own dedicated AC (not central as in the buildings) which we figured was better for times of COVID. So are glad we upgraded and are more likely to do so on future trips. The room was wonderful. Very new. Very clean. Very comfortable (and more space compared). For morning breakfast, they did a good job keeping a COVID safe environment. Masks were required in the buffet food area (remove mask only at your table, and plenty of space between tables). For picking food in the buffet, no sharing of utensils; they had new ones for each customer to use then dispose of after getting through the buffet line. Managed well - felt very safe.
