My family had a great time at Ary's. we stayed in bungalow 4, which is the closest to the beach. It is in a secluded part of the island, close to the airport. Staff is very friendly. Food was good and not expensive. Fruit juices were freshly squeezed and delicious. Staff can set up day trips to the islands near by. We went to the closest island for a day trip. The cooks caught the fish we ate for lunch on our way there. Free snorkeling equipment is available from the hotel. However, you don't need a boat to see some cool stuff with the masks. Great beach area and no waves...especially nice when traveling with little ones. Things to know ahead of time- there's no electricity in the day, no wifi, and limited cell service. Bring lots of bug spray and a supply of snacks as there are no restaurants near. Also, payment is cash only. They are closed January through March due to unpredictability of boats during rainy season.

There's not much more to say than all the rest of the positive reviews... After 5 nights staying at an other less remote resort on the island (Breve Azurine) we booked a bungalow for 3 nights. We stayed 5 !!! As we were there during the end off the Ramadan, we were almost the only guest. Most off the staff was off and only Ian, Pom and a mother who was cooking were looking after us. They spoiled us to death, fantastic food (the best on the island) and great service. It's a isolated place, so you have to rent a motorbike or a taxi to go (by a terrible road) to the main village. Because the island is not very touristic yet, there is not much to do in the village. So no need to go, unless you need money from the only ATM on the island. The bungalows are not cheap, if you compare it with the rest of Indonesia. But all the accommodation on the island is expensive. (and also taxi's!!). But the excellent food is not expensive at all. If you really need internet: buy a Indonesian phone card and otherwise ask Ian if you can borrow his phone. There is a mobile signal. Again, we had a fantastic time and hoping to come back again.

My wife and I stayed there (in the bungalow #4) during five days in the beginning of December... We had the complete hotel for ourselves as it was off season! The staff, as all Indonesians, were extremely helpful and friendly and the receptionist spoke perfect English. Before you come there you need to be aware of a few things: - no phone signal (not a problem for us!) - electricity from 6pm to 6am - available food and fruits will depend on what could be harvested/killed. So when you arrive at your table, ask what is available The food was excellent and the cook can also improvise if you ask her to. The juices and fruits are great, ask them for a snake fruit! The staff can organize small trips to the nearby islands and is very accommodating. One day trip cost us 700k, and we were alone with the driver. Learn a little Indonesian if you want to change plans with him. The taxi from the harbor to the hotel cost us 200k, organized by the hotel. The hotel managed to book us the susi air flight and the transfer was 100k. As other people have said here, the bungalows are much better than the rooms... Take them! Bungalow #4 is the closest to the sea. The hotel location is remote so we recommend it for people who want to relax, enjoy the view and disconnect. What they could do better: - clean the mosquito net - have kayaks to paddle around All in all, we had a great time!

Such a pretty place in quite a remote location of the island, you'll need a bike or car to move around, nothing can be done by foot, and the hotel is taking a great advantage of it. They charged us 600 000 rp to come pick us up and drop us back at the ferry (20km max), it's just unbelievable. Try find another way to reach the hotel as really it's a joke when you think that it cost 700 000 rp to do Jepara to Yogyakarta (200km) in a private taxi. Apart from that the bungalow was very nice and clean, amazing view on the paradisiac beach. We were the only customers when we went there and it was heaven. No wifi, no electricity during the day which really is enjoyable it if you want to cut with the world. We liked it, some might not be so enthusiastic.

Arys lagoon is a lovely littly hideaway with only 5 Bungalows and a few hotel rooms. It is situated at beautiful White sandy barracuda beach with palms and cristall clear, warm Water - you can walk some hundret meters into the ocean! The rooms are very nicely equipped - above indonesian standard with AC, comfy beds, daily room cleaning, soft towels, very spacious and clean. The Bungalows have a nice huge balcony facing the sea - you can enjoy you breakfast there, just awesome!!! Staff is very pleasant, nice and friendly, they help to organize transport with ferry, speed Boat or plane, scooter, tips for Day trips and a highly recommended Boat tour to a lonely Island - Robinson crusoe style! Enjoy snorkling across the colourful corall reef that seemed to be in good shape and afterwards bbq with fresh-caught fish on private island... (600.000 IDR for whole Day for the boat, can bw shared by 2 or more persons). Food was (in our opinion - saw there have been Different views on that in former postings...) delicious!!! Everything is freshly cooked, loved the chicken satay with homemade peanut sauce, gado gado, stirfried veggies  (capcay), pancakes, vegetable soup, nasi and mie goreng, Watermelon juice....We did not try the Western food but there is also Spaghetti Bolognese on the Menu ;-) There is also always cold Bintang available! Only thing to critisize is the general indonesian views on environmantal Protection - even though barracuda beach is clean, you will find loads of rubbish and plastic on the neighbour grounds... We really enjoyed our stay here! Thanks a lot to the whole team!
