My best friend and me had a wonderful stay at Astana Swaha Estate. We stayed at the top floor with an amazing view over the rice paddies and beautiful sunset. The area is remote which we loved (but still enough warungs and small shops around). The room was comfortable, nice shower. We rented a scooter at Astana and explored all around eastern Bali which was lovely and gave us a lot of freedom (make sure the tires are well inflated). Gusti is a great and kind manager, on our request he took us to a Balinese Hindu purification ceremony which was a wonderful spiritual experience (we had to pay, but definitely worth it). The host, Netri, is the kindest lady we’ve met in Bali, we felt like she was a bit like our Balinese mother. She always made sure we were satisfied, made us a welcome drink, gave us snacks, made delicious breakfast, kept our room superclean, got us ready for the ceremony. She has a very warm heart and we are gonna miss her. The aircon was pretty good if you know how to use it ;-) (use the cool setting and not the fan setting).
Only minus was the loud music from the nearby school starting very early, but I guess it was a special occasion, doesn’t happen often.
Thank you for making us feel at home Netri and Gusti!
