As friendly as the staff was, it didn't balance my overall experience of this hotel.
Makassar on itself is not a very nice city to stay in, let's be fair. So I guess the location of this hotel is pretty good although it's on a busy street so the this walls won't hold a lot of noise.
The room was smelly but clean and the bathroom was pretty basic but hey, it's indonesia.
Breakfast was good enough but not a lot of choice unfortunately. The wifi was pretty slow but worked alright.
The staff, like I said, I very friendly. They always are in Indonesia in my experience. But for some reason the most of them never had to learn a word of English. Which seems strange to me since they are working in one of the better hotels of a big city. Maybe something that most hotels in Indonesia should pay attention to? I've had much less trouble speaking to the staff of most budget accommodation I've stayed. Point taken.
But ok, it's a clean, comfortable room, the staff is always smiling and you get fed every morning. So for me it's got all the essentials a hotel needs. Unfortunately that is also all it has.
