We visited Ijen Vulcano in Oktober 2017. A fantastic and amazing location with great view and staff. The food is delicious as well. Swimming Pool is great with unfurtunately only two beds. Worth to come and relax after visiting Ijen Vulcano.

We had a great stay. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Food was good. Highly recommend staying in the deluxe rooms (we were in no. 97) as has stunning views across the valley and rice fields. The access road to the hotel is a bit bumpy (not paved) but worth the effort for the views. Great place to chill out after a trip up Ijen.

The room was nice. The location was far away from Banyuwangi. Its really place to isolate yourself from banyuwangi. Its a good place to hide of. The location was in village. Food has not many variation. The staff very helpful.

Booked a room good for 3. We were not expecting much, but were surprised that the units are nicely done, marble floors, toiletries, robes, slippers and a really nice shower. They've put up an extra bed but it was the foldable kind so it was wobbly; ended up using the big bed, which was still comfortable for three actually. The food is one of the nicest i have tried in the area, and the staff are kind and attentive. What might put off some is the remoteness of the place (but shouldn't be a problem if you have a car). We seriously doubted the hotel existed at all; had to pass through badly-maintained roads and then rough roads in the middle of rice fields with no lights in sight! (we were making our way there around past 7pm already). But what you get is a quiet place, nice rooms, good service. Wish we had more time to explore. Takes 1 hour to reach Ijen entrance, so you wake up an hour earlier than other hikers who stay nearer. All-in-all, value-for-money.

To be honest, I was pretty sceptical upon reading the other reviews. However, I am glad I made the decision to book Ijen Cliff. Firstly, staff at Ijen Cliff provided within a day reply (via email). Which is great as our booking was quite last minute. We backpacked from Surabaya. Initially, we wanted to take the bus via Bondowonso. However, upon their advice, we went via Jember to Banyuwangi. They provided clear instructions as to which bus company etc to take. Mentioned it takes about 7hours total bus ride, give and take. However, due to an incident on the road, there was a pretty massive jam. SMS to inform them we were going to be later than usual, however their driver is already at the Bus Station (about 2 hours before before-mentioned time). Ijen staff mentioned it's alright, they will wait. In the end, we reached almost 4 hours after the agreed time & they were totally understanding. Great service! Also, the driver somehow managed to call out my name as soon as i alighted. Which saves me the trouble of looking out for him. It was really dark. Next, they offered a complimentary room upgrade too. Room was clean & huge. With simple facility, with A/C, clean, with mosquito net etc. Our only issue was with the hot water. Please test the shower before jumping into it. Apparently, they did not switch our heater on. & there is also limited hot water. Lasted about 3 mins. So use wisely. Oh, another thing. On the second night there was a sound, kinda like a bird which scared the hell out of us. Like seriously, when the lights were out & we were about to get some shuteye, this had to jolt us out of bed. We scrambled for the light & not a bird. Perhaps insect? Well, we didn't see anything. Went back to bed, sound came again while we were asleep, I got really annoyed, shouted at it & it was silent for the rest of the night :) Breakfast is basic but yummy. Staff knows basic English, was able to converse a little. Location was great because it is only about 45mins away from Ijen Crater & away from the Town. Ijen Cliff is past a small & quiet village. Beautiful view and scenery. We took a walk mid-day & the villagers were super friendly & lovely. Internet was only at the Resto area. Would definitely recommend Ijen Cliff if you are looking for somewhere quiet, recluse & staff to make you feel welcomed.
