Reading such wonderful reviews on Omah Pitoe, one tends to have certain expections. The facilities and service provided were,to our pleasant surprise, beyond our expectations.
When we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly Tante Maria. She couldn't do enough for us. She even gave us some sandals when she found out that we hadn't brought any.
As we were shown around the house, we instantly fell in love with this beautiful homey place. The room was big and spotless ; the towels smelt so nice; wifi connection was good. There was no TV in the room, but a huge TV was provided in the common area.
The common area itself was an attraction : a set of gamelan,a phonograph, an old radio, statues, and indoor gazebos. There was even an outdoor seating area to enjoy the garden. According to our lovely host, Gamelan practices were to be held weekly and guests could also enjoy the beautiful gamelan melody. Unfortunately, we didn't get to enjoy the privilege.
The guest house itself is a walking distance from the "North Alun-Alun", so it was quite easy to find food. It is also not that far away from the Wijilan area famous for its gudeg restaurants.
All in all, our stay in Omah Pitoe was a delightful experience, and we would love to come back in the future.
