We had a great time at robes guesthouse. We planned to stay a day or two but ended up staying for ten days. The place was clean and very comfortable. I slept like a baby. I also enjoyed sitting on the porch doing some work with his great internet. We heard lots of people say their internet only worked a few times while we found robes the best we have seen in se asia, honestly. The place is great. It is very close to Kota but just far enough to feel isolated, with good local restaurants and laundry a few minutes walk away. We made friends with several people in the neighborhood village who stayed longer than expected due to the area. The good and cheap scooters make it even easier to get around. The staff and his friends were great and always around if needed. They were ready to make breakfast banana pancakes when you were ready, even in the afternoon. They also provided great suggestions based on what we were looking for. Finally, we really liked rob himself. He is simply an allround good guy.

Roby is an exceptional host! We ended up spending 5 days at his homestay and would have stayed longer. He is always available to answer all your questions and help as much as possible. Him and Nella, his wife, are both warm and caring hosts and we strongly recommend this homestay to everyone passing by Lombok. On our last night we even got to enjoy a traditional homemade Lombok dinner with Roby and his brother. Thank you for cooking, Nella, it was enak! Thanks for everything, Roby, hope to see you again!

I stayed in a small farming village as homestay for one night. The room was clean, only had cold water, and breakfast with pancakes was excellent. The homestay cost reasonably priced, although I felt that the proprietor was more concerned with getting his guests to use his taxi service, which was much more expensive than other places. I got another cheaper taxi, who I just had to walk down the street, turn left and go to his first small shop. However, I was dissatisfied with this. Most homestays host who are really trying to assist you with low cost taxis and great excursions and not really trying to earn more money out of it.

We booked the next homestay, and toni is his brother, but they changed us over to the rob homestay because we only had one night before we finally stayed there for ten days. The room is basic and has a fan, a comfortable bed, and a cold shower. And quite affordable. The location isnt bad because toni rents scooters of very good quality, so you are in Kota Beachcity in five minutes. The room includes breakfast. Every day the same banana pancakes are served, occasionally without banana. In any case, I strongly advise doing it for the price of 100 idr people.
