Saba Cottages Bali

I just had a heart attack (2 days ago). They have placed 4 coronair stents. For this reason and on doctor’s advice I had to cancel my booking at Saba Cottages. Carl was in his reply very inhuman and unwilling to refund payment we paid in advance. All other accomodation (indonesian owners) did, except this French couple. I assumme they need the money very badly. So my advise don’t book here! Don’t stay here!!!

There are many highlights to mention about this accommodation and ALL positive! The rooms (styling, cleanliness, size, outdoor shower), the gardens, the location (close to the beach but far enough away from all the real 'tourist' parts yet only a 20 min drive away from waterfalls, art markets, monkey forest, bird parks, safari park etc.) but the best part is the owners! Carl and Alex are delightful and know exactly when you are looking for company or when to let you relax, nothing is too much trouble (whether you ask them to organise a massage or have your clothes laundered) and they make you feel completely at home! I cannot recommend this place highly enough, worth every cent!

Spent 3 last nights of Bali experiance in Saba cottages which is away from main busy tourist areas and is amazing place to relax, chill down and rest. Place is beautiful, full of green jungle plants (banana trees!) And designed very tastefully. Cottage had own private veranda area where we would sit in the evening reading book, talking and drinking cold beer. Beautiful shower, great size bathroom, fresh and nice smelling towels and linen, comfortable bed, and detailed design of the place were one of many of the features. Pool is big enough to have decent swim and feels super private. Saba cottages is good base to explore area, we have rented a scooter and travelled to ubud, port to access nusa penida (strongly recommended although fast boat is not the cheapest to get there -200000-300000 pp)and explored local area. Scooter was cheapest we have had in Bali (60k per day) Dinners are made by local cook , different every day, well worth it. Every dinner was finished with amazing French dessert ! If wanting to go for dinner outside of cottage amazing restaurant with great food and free pick up is available ( warong legong) ask your hosts and they shall arrange it all. Worth trying once if staying few nights. Hosts are most friendly and attentive with very good English. Made you feel like at home and are most kind and interesting people ever. They will arrange anything you need any help with any of your needs. Even contacting them ahead of our arrival was quick and informative.we booked directly with them via their email and PayPal payment. Laundry service offered is very cheap and really good, things came back smelling so fresh! Hoping to be back one day.

The french owners ( they speak good english) have made a beautiful retreat in a lush well kept garden. Beautiful cottages , decorated in Balines style, fine dining and a lovely pool give the relax feeling to get everything out of your holiday. Trips with a scooter or car with driver /gide are possible, but a day at the pool maken your holiday worth while! They cook a combi of Balinese and french food, amazingly good. We, mother and daughter, will defenitly return to this heavenly spot on Bali.

If you find a paradise your can find it in Saba Cottages Bali. The place where you enjoy your life and you feel strong connection with nature. The staff is caring, polite,friendly. There is amazing view on the tropical jungle. The ocean is next to Saba Cottages Bali (about 100m). I love this place very much. I promise I will come back to Saba Cottages Bali. I appreciate Alex and Carl for my wonderful holiday.
