Staying here is a truly amazing experience and I highly recommend staying here. We have traveled extensively in Bali but the scenery in this area is on a different level. The accommodation is at the back half of a family compound (two generations live in the front half), the father is very modern thinking and speaks very good English, the eldest daughter speaks good English too, the rest of the family cannot speak English as well but friendliness does not need to be spoken. If you can visit on a weekend you will see the school children come for dance/English lessons. We went to a local temples ceremony too which was great.
Sideman is a region made up of villages, all very close to Mount Agung. If you walk into the street you can see Mt Agung at the end of the road.
The accommodation comprises of 4 rooms with AC and overlook the Padi fields, 2 of the rooms are two storey. Over our 6 days here we watched the fields been prepared and planted.
Breakfast here is great they will do you noodles or fried rice for lunch/dinner for a good price. If you want more you will have to travel over a hill into the heart of Sideman to find Warungs.
The father can organise mopeds, taxis, give good tourist advise (he has worked in Ubud too) to make your stay an experience of a lifetime.
