Other than location, didn't fancy anything else about this place. Room had a slight sewer stench (but you get used to it after a while). There was a mothball in the toilet (i believe to try to get rid of smell). Wi-Fi was slow. Furniture dated. Tiles in the toilet stained from old age. Towels they gave were thin with a hole in one of them. Pool looked dirty. Breakfast was edible. Water pressure poor and virtually no hot water. Salty water as mentioned by other reviews. Plagued by mosquitoes the first night. The next day the hotel staff sprayed the room with insecticide and bought us a bottle of insect repellent. That was thoughtful of them, no mosquitoes the second night but that night, there was a large group of tourists who played loud music and shouted and danced to the music all the way to 1130pm until I couldn't take it and we went out to ask them to keep quiet and party somewhere else. There are at least 10 rooms in the hotel so they should be more considerate. Cant blame the management for rowdy guests but at least if they claim to have 24 hours reception on the booking.com website - there should be a staff to give them firm rules on keeping noise levels down, instead we had to come out of our bed to tell them to keep quiet.
Its a 5 mins away from mushroom beach with a fair range of eateries. That's the only plus point.
This is not a room in which you would like to chill in. Its just a room to sleep. Only stay here if you really really need to be near mushroom beach. If we had to choose, we would choose somewhere else to stay since we rented a motorbike and the roads are generally easier to navigate compared to penida. I'm sure you can find other better places for the same price. We read the reviews and were aware that reviews were mixed but we thought being close to the beach was important. However we soon realised it's still nicer to go back to a hotel room where we can smile and relax instead of holding our breath when we enter the room or worried if there will be any hot water or mosquitoes.
