This hotel was booked through the Daily Mail. First impression was good as reception and nearby lounge was very clean and modern. The receptionist was very friendly and although we was an early arrival our room was ready to use. The room was very spacious with a large bathroom and toilet. Very nice clean towels and toiletries provided and plenty of storage space. There is no coffee making facilities in the room but it does have a mini bar / fridge and free water. The bed was very comfortable with extra pillows if needed. Breakfast was full continental, it was delicious. Plenty of croissants, bread pancakes etc cold meat and cheese scrambled egg cereals and fruit juice plus tea and coffee. The waitress was very pleasant and always cleaning tables or filling up the breakfast. The location is about half an hour from the Venice Grand Canal. The bus stop and tram station was 5/10 minutes walk from the hotel. The bus runs every 15 minutes to and from day and night. We bought our travel cards from the hotel, excellent value for money and way use. Overall the hotel was clean and friendly but lacked a bit of atmosphere probably due to the time of year. Bar lounge was closed so although lounge area was nice you couldn’t even sit with a coffee. Bars and cafes on walk to bus/tram stop.

As part of my wife's 60th birthday celebrations, we had previously been in Rome for three days before coming here by train from Rome. We had never stayed here before, and as we found out, it was only a short trip on the bus or trams, that took us into Venice itself. The bus/tram station is very centrally placed in Venice and very cheap to travel on. The hotel on arrival, (we caught a taxi from the station, it was only 10 euros), we thought appeared pretty good. We were greeted nicely by the man on reception, who spoke very good English, and the booking in to stay was completed without fuss or mishap. Our room was on the second floor, (which we found easily travelling in the lift), and had a modern locking system which was again, easy to enter. The hotel had laid on a bottle of champagne(not previously ordered), a nice bunch if flowers and some fruit. There was enough room inside the room to put all our clothes away, and on first inspection, the room was clean, smelt fresh, and the beds nicely made. Getting into bed, we found them very comfortable, and the laundry was changed each day. The shower and bath worked well, with lots of hot water when needed. Although the hotel is situated on a main road, the traffic noise was minimal and din't keep us awake at night whatsoever. Coming down to breakfast the first morning, we found a table free and helped ourselves to the food on offer. Obviously it was a continental breakfast, all looked good and tasted good. A good hotel to stay in.

We stayed for three nights here in August, having spent the previous week on a cruise beginning and ending in Venice. It has a good location and there is an area of the lovely beach reserved for the hotel guests. It is only a five minute walk from the hotel. The hotel was ok but decor was very dated, as were the fixtures and fittings in the room as if nothing had changed since the late 70’s or early 80’s. We reserved a double room but found a bunk bed in there too which took up a lot of space (but was ok for putting our cases on, I guess). Paper was peeling off one of the walls next to the bed on the wall separating it from the bathroom. As a room to sleep in and spend very little time in, it was fine but it was not plush. Breakfast was ok but was quite busy and was held in quite a small room. The majority of the guests were German-speaking - the resort is very popular with German tourists. Staff were helpful and polite at the hotel. It wasn’t bad - it was just basic and with some refurbishments, would be a very good hotel in an excellent location.

Hotel President is a tram & boat ride from Venezia. Tram stop is just down the road & all services run very frequently, T1 for Tram & 2 for boats. The hotel is not a chain hotel & furnishings are mature. However, very good value. Everyone on reception are pleasant & helpful & you can buy a travel ticket from them. The place is spotless, there is a lift to rooms. The breakfast buffet has everything you could want including hot small sausages, scrambled eggs & bacon. There is a variety of bread & cake available to supplement the cold meats & cheese& fruits. The waitress clears the table for you & there are several small tables with spotless tablecloths. The airport is around 20 minutes drive away & getting to St Marks Square takes up to an hour. This hotel is excellent value and I would be happy to stay here again & I am a mature experienced traveller. Don’t take any notice of the previous negative reviews.

We arrived from the Airport by Taxi at a cost of 68 euros (80 euros back to the airport) The staff were freindly & always willing to give advice. Although we had booked twin bads, the hotel was not told, but they changed our room immediately, but were then on different floors to our friends. We arrived early morning, but our rooms were available straight away, which we appreciated. Room was a nice size with TV, Safe, wardrobe & drawers. The bathroom had a WC, Bidet, basin & the smallest shower I have ever been in. Being tall & large build, I did find I was unable to move around. We had a hair dryer, but ours never worked. The beds were comfortable, but we only had one cushion each, but they supplied an extra one when asked. Although the TV had around 300 stations, I could not find one English channel, other than old fashioon films. I like to listen to the news, but all news channels were in Italian. We were bed & breakfast, so it was a shock to find no coffee maiing facilities. The hotel was not providing any evening facilities, like a bar, coffee, crisps, nuts etc. The receptionist turned on the lights in the lounge so we could play cards. Breakfast was very good, with all the usual cakes, cerials, yoghurt etc. They did have some scambled eggs & bacon, with rolls etc. I did find the staff were not relaying tables, clean plates, spoons etc, so you were always asking the waitress. It was a shame because the hotel has all the ingredience to improve their facilities with the staff in place with the willingness to please. The bus / tram station was a 10 minute walk away & you could get to most places from this point. We brought a 2 day bus, water bus, tram pass which was 30 eauros each, but we certainly had our value, travelling all over Venice. We went to a local restaurant just down the road, which was excellent. It was called the Marco Polo
