We were here end September/beginning Oct. Had not booked anything as we thought plenty of space at this time of year, but in fact choices were limited. We looked at 5 others before coming to Splendid Palace. Were wanting 4 nights, they only had 2 but we were so impressed we took that anyway. We then stayed a third night when it became available. On the face of it at €160 a night it was more expensive than the alternatives but in fact with half-board included it was good value. The evening meal buffet was easily the best of this style we have ever had. The hotel being full probably helped this, but the choice of interesting dishes was excellent, and beer and wines included, so one could start with a beer or wine as aperitif, soup, crudites, antipasto, fish course, pasta course, main course, delicious dessert, choice of cheeses, and then coffee. Our meals took a while! Breakfast not quite up to the same standard but still good. Our room was comfortable with a balcony and lovely views. We used the indoor pool several times. Only negative really is that both indoor and outdoor pools are a bit shallow for swimming, presumably for safety as there's no life-guard. The indoor pool is heated but not very much. When we were there most guests were part of German tour groups and as we don't speak German not much conversation. Location is handy for Limone village and the ferries. Parking no problem.
