This is a 3 star family owned hotel. You can add an extra (golden) plus for the excellent service, hospitality and customer oriented approach. You sense the family atmosphere that add an appreciated twist to the Italian generosity. Reasonable English is spoken by the owners. Spent one week as single, downhill skiing in the area, with friends staying at an other hotel.
HOTEL: small hotel in the town center where the free Wi-Fi works allover. In my room I measured the wireless speed to 10 Mb/s Though the hotel is situated by the main road you will have a good night's sleep, due to the fact that the town is very quiet during the night with practically no traffic. The bed was firm and in more than acceptable condition. Daily cleaning was of higher quality than one is used to in a three star establishment. The single room was tidy and spacious enough and equipped with a large wardrobe. Breakfast was as you can expect in the alps and the Mediterranean countries. There is also a small spa area, which I did not visit.
The hotel is some 680 m from the cabin lift that takes you to the ski area. You can rent an excellent boot/ski cabin for two persons either at the lower or upper station for 25 eur/week. There are also family cabins. In this way you can walk to and from skiing without carrying heavy boots and skies or take the ski buss at rush hours.
SKI AREA AND SKIING: Pinzolo is outstanding for skiers who prefer none or may tolerate some queuing in the lifts, likes more red and black slopes than blue ones and appreciate some cultural surrounding in an old Italian small town instead of a cluster of modern hotels and flats. The Pinzolo ski area includes also Madonna di Campiglio and gives you more than 150 km of skiing. In Madonna one has to be prepared to queue and constantly look out for other skiers. Good slopes but with much blue or transfer type of skiing pistes.
ROOM TIP: single room on the second floor is comfy and has an excellent Wi-Fi
