Stayed here for 4nights. It was about a 5min walk from the train station as we got an Italio train from venice to rome. We werent sure at first on the location as there is a sign opposite the hotel with a "no pooing" image on it, and a duvet stuffed in to the gate of a building opposite. A homeless man does sleep there but he never bothered us.
Theres a lovely church next door which has unusual chimes. They even had a violin evening one night.
The hotel itself was nice. Yes a small lift as a previous review says but its an old building so they had to get special permission to even put a lift in.
Our room was nice. Except the next morning the rainfall shower was not working at it should be. We advised reception and were told it would be looked at. The following morning we found the shower had not been fixed. Also the aircon didnt work and it was very hot in our room. We had opened the window but wasnt sure who could potentially climb up a ladder below, outside our window.
So again we advised reception and were given a new room and an upgrade. Perfect shower and aircon. Yey!
The breakfast was nice and good choice.
You do get water in the room too.
Rome is a very busy place. Lots of grafiti, a few homeless and beggars as many cities have.
The colloseum was crowded and you are bombarded by men trying to offer tours to beat the crowds. The Trevi fountain was crowded by goaders selling selfie sticks and junk.
All the main sites are walkable from the hotel. We got the pink hop on hop off tour bus.
Very horrible man selling scalf's near the Vatican.
Hard rock cafe was packed. You need to book in advance.
We also went to the zoo. Yes a zoo which we didnt hear about. But make your own judgement.
We went to Ghandi 2 Indian restaurant one night which is a 5min walk from the hotel, and its so amazing. The best Indian food ive had, apart from India itself! You may want a change from pasta and pizza.
At the end of the road from the hotel is an irish bar which is good for food and like a Harvester's pub to us in the UK. Nice atmosphere.
Staff in the hotel were nice. Quite a lot of staff at breakfast which you dint really need for a buffett breakfast i thought.
