1) PERSONAL DATA BREACH - we received an email from the hotel regarding a baby cot, which we didn't request. We responded back saying this was not our query, they responded by including the email address of the people with the baby cot query. Note that the email includes our booking details as well as other personal data. Seems like they out sourced the customer service, because the names that responded didn't sound Japanese. 2) Lost room key cost JPY5,500 - this was not explained during check-in, and was not advised that there is no refund. Eventhough we showed that we mailed the room key, pic of the receipt included, and the branch of newsday where it was mailed was also included, they still didn't refund our money. 3) Expensive buffet, but so so food for the price. 4) Slopes are not groomed often, as a beginner, you need to be very careful cause the tractor tracks doesn't make a smooth ride down. 5) Tea kettle still contains water, and there was a yellow oily residue on the wall of the kettle pot. Will not be coming back again. At least there are better quality Resorts that are run by Japanese management in Hakuba.

great location good souvenir shop, tired rooms over priced. If you don't buy the meal plan you are done as there is NO where to eat. The cost of the buffet is insane and they don't even provide free beer. It's like 75$ a person. The crab is the attraction everything else isn't worth eating. The hotel is over run with muttering people from china that show up at the crab station the same way the crabs show us at the catch net with one fish inside.

The hotel has a great location on the slopes, but away from the local town. The room was good and roomy, but you need a Tower room, as the others are rather tired and smaller. The ski rental is very expensive by Japanese standards, although the ski pass is inexpensive and the resort offers good skiing generally. I would have liked to see a drying room for clothes and boots. The food is quite expensive but in line with resort prices elsewhere where you're a captive audience. The Japanese restaurant offered good food, as did the breakfast buffet, provided you didn't take the Western buffet option. The service was good generally, but there needs to be some character built in otherwise it leaves you feeling flat at the end of your stay.

Appi Grand is right on the slopes, it has a good onsen, two great restaurants : the sushi and the teppanyaki. Service is very good and during the week not crowded at all. Ski area is veri interesting with powder skiing and some goos tree areas. Veri good for families too.

Well the skiing here is good but you better pack a lunch as when your here they own you. The buffet at $60 a pop is egregiously priced. Hit and miss depending on the traffic your food will be warm at best if not room temp cold. This resort was bought by Chinese investors so while the staff might be japanese the entire experience is a cut corners charge em for everything attitude. This is japan a hotel in the middle of nowhere that commands $16 hamburgers and once your here your stuck. If you like bumbling fumbling chinese families screaming their way around in large groups then this is your ticket. No ones listening here and they don’t really seem to care as the staff are strangled by Chinese management. There’s not much japanese anything about being here. Better t stay in Morioka rent a car and drive in. You’d think there’s a war on for what they charge here. Only 2 high-speed lifts here the others bring your sleeping bag and oil of Olay. You’ll be a year older by the time you reach the peak. A Shanghai paradise of shoppers packing there bags with everything they can’t get in china.
