The staff checked me in to Room 704, a very nice double bed room facing east and overlooking the main station plaza. There was a nice view of the hills and distant mountains. They went the extra mile by calling my room after hearing where my bike was parked, and showing me to a more secure place where the staff park their bicycles.
The rooms in Japanese business hotels are not very large, but this one is a little bigger. It’s very quiet, and I can’t hear any of the nearby trains.
The bathroom is very modern and bright, has up- to- date fixtures and fittings and a good selection of amenities. The shower / tub has a good temperature- control armature.
Breakfast is either a Japanese buffet, in the hotel, or a choice of two western breakfast sets in the nearby UCC Coffee restaurant in the station. I was down for a Croque Monsieur, so I went for the UCC set Menu A. It was very good, and the filtered coffee was excellent; you can add a second cup for Y200.
The adjacent station has a Jupiter specialty supermarket, great if you’re craving something western -- they have a huge selection of western foods. There are many more stores there, and of course a konbini. The hotel lobby connects directly to the 2F walkway to all the station stores and the train gates.
The location, like most main train station locations in Japan, is surrounded by many restaurants and bars, so there’s a lot to choose from. Can’t get any more convenient than that!
