Hotel is decent and generally clean. Wouldn’t say that it is spotless but it was decent. Room was spacious. Friendly staff.
The hotel is located close to the valley so good for walks and sightseeing. If you plan on coming here by public transport alone, it is a bit of a walk from the bus station. When it is snowing, dragging your luggage to/from the hotel may not be as fun.
There are a few large public baths available at the basement of the hotel. No mix gender bath. Not sure about the female side, but on the male side there were a few different baths, and each seems to have a different temperature. There is also an outdoor bath. The water has a strong sulphur smell, so you know you’re getting genuine stuff but if you cannot stand the rotten egg smell then perhaps seek a different type of onsen.
The food was alright. Would not say that they were spectacular, but at least edible. It’s a nice place to go for a night or two but I wouldn’t stay long. It appears that there’s no option to go out and eat as there aren’t any eateries around from what we could see. When night comes there’s not much to do other than onsen or stay in your hotel room to watch Netflix. If you have a car, it’s not that far to drive to Sapporo should you wish to do something at night.
