I've stayed at the Prince Sakura Tower for both business and personal reasons, and it continues to be one of my favourite hotels. The rooms are spacious, the access to trains and buses nearby is fantastic, and the weather forecast and chocolates for the turn-down service are a great touch. The tempura restaurant in one of the other buildings on the grounds was also quite the experience.
But most of all, the garden. I love the garden. I've taken a morning walk through it during a bright springtime morning, meandered around for a peaceful nighttime stroll, and taken in the cool winter air as the New Years bell rang through the grounds. It was also a great view out the elevator gliding to and from my upgraded floor up top, or whilst having a relaxing afternoon tea at the executive lounge—courtesy of having Bonvoy platinum.
Finally, I want to show my appreciation to Mayumi at the concierge desk. During New Years I was holding onto an expiring prescription, for which the night before I'd already searched fruitlessly for an open pharmacy. Even with my hopes becoming slimmer for one to be open at all, Mayumi found me one open pharmacy in Ueno, and provided printed transport directions, opening hours, and an annotated map to help get me there. I was really, really thankful for this. Thank you again to Mayumi and the concierge team!
My visits here have been very enjoyable every time, and I hope for the chance to visit again in the future.
