My family and I stayed at the Zero-Project Japan Guest House during the last winter and were extremely satisfied with our stay. Here are a few reasons why: 1. Conveniently located next to a large supermarket and also included a 100 Yen shop. 2. Located close to lake Yamanaka and if you are energetic, you can walk there. 3. Staff was extremely welcoming and accommodating. 4. Large and clean room for the cost of staying there; great value for the price. 5. Located in .a quiet road with little traffic noise. 6. Our room had a partial view of mt. Fuji. 7. Complementary coffee and hot water in the lobby. 8. Staff was very knowledgeable of the the area and provided recommendations for eating. He spoke great english and carried on great conversations and shared great experiences. May family and I will certainly stay here again during our next visit to the area.

This place is a gem in Lake Yamanaka. Good value for money and in a quiet area . I stayed in a traditional Japanese room and the host was very helpful in providing tips in exploring the place. He even helped me arranged my bus back to Tokyo. The place has a Japanese style bath since I had the place all to myself, I had the luxury of enjoying my own private onsen. The place is about 300 meters from a bus stop Hana no Miyako Kouen Iriguchi. If you are coming from Gotemba station, you will get off on the bus stop near an Eneos station, just cross the street towards the shop across Eneos (forgot the name) with the small parking lot and take the road to your right and you will see the guesthouse to your left in about 3 minutes of walking or less.

I stay there for one night yesterday. The guesthouse is within walking distance to a big supermarket and the lake. The room is clean and the bedding is comfortable. A good break from modern hotel. Highly recommended for anyone who like a taste of staying in a Japanese home.

It was my first time staying in a Japanese guest house. I was nervous and do not know what to expect. The host speaks good English and provided good information around the area when I arrived. The guest house is very clean and the hot bath is a must-do. The location of the guest house is away from the main roads, so it is quite for sleeping at night. The heater below the desk is very cool. The pot of hot water to brew green tea at night is very interesting. Making my own Japanese bed is also very much fun. It brought me back to hundreds of years ago. The room has two doors to prevent the coldness. The host also provided a heater which was very important as it is freezing at night. Although the guest house does not provide meals, there are shops around which have good food. The ramen house next door has very good noodle soup at a good value. The convenient store on the top of the street also has varieties of food to choose, whether hot or cold. Also, the bus stops for both Fiji buses and local round-lake buses are on the top of the street, about 5 mins from the guest house. I strongly recommend this guest house for anyone who plans to stay in the region.

You will easy to miss this hotel as the hotel signboard very small unless you search the street view from Google map before you come. We reached about 7.30pm and wait for about 20min when check-in as no body in the Ryokan living room after we call Hello for a few times. After that we on the heater that placed in living room and try to stay around the heater as we really feel cold. But the host mentioned that the weather now only 9 or 10 degree is not that cold and off the heater. The host Masahide Hada San is very helpful & able to speak fluent English. Our room sleep for 5 on ground floor was very big, hot water prepared in advance in thermal pot, some basic green tea pack & towel also, room & toilet very clean, wifi works well. We need to take out the futon, put on the cover and set up ourself, don't feel like want to do it after sightseeing whole day with our tired body. A slip paste on the room's heater which advice to set it below xx degrees to save the environment, but we feel very cold of that xx degrees. Even we set it higher, the room a bit warmer but we need to stay around the heater. The blankets was old style & moveable inside the cover, so when you sleep got to adjust a bit in order to cover properly, personal I hate this kind of blanket. There was two shared bathroom for both gentle use, user can locked the share bathroom's door for private use. The heater deliver a inconstant supply of hot water every few seconds, I even can heard the heater working sound quite loud then know that when was the hot water gone & cold water coming!! Go out turn left from Ryokan, 5 minutes walk to supermarket & opposite of it there was a restaurant 大豊 Hoto noodles & the soup was delicious! Thanks for the vote if you found this helpful :D
