this hotel is a gem, a nice surprise. the rooms allocated are nicely decorated, clean, comfortable. Hot water 24/24, TV cam and serenity. the manager of this hotel is very professional but above all honest, no hidden costs. breakfast and dinner are additional I encourage you to take them because the value for money is really up to par. tea is offered from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. which allows residents to meet in the pretty lounge and discuss our trip to Jordan. This hotel is truly the best in Kerak and one of the best moments of our 12 days in Jordan. the staff are very attentive to our well-being and the success of our stay.

We stayed for one night at this very sweet boutique hotel in Karak and we felt blessed! Reading other feedback we were expecting the worse experience but, trust me, this is one of the best place to stop to if you are in Karak. They probably renewed the rooms recently making them comfy and spacious, everything was perfect from the breakfast to the dinner. Osama took care of us in a very special way and he even gave me extra towels and a hairdryer. And last but not least, they have the biggest showers I’ve ever seen in my life! We really recommend, hard to find something better than this. Very good!

Aside from its gorgeous castle, the modern city of al-Kerak has not much to offer and even felt a bit intimidating when the sun had set and the streets were dark and dominated by groups of young men with no woman in sight. The Cairwan hotel therefore felt like a warm bath in the cold winter night when we arrived there. The hotel is situated right along the king’s highway and on the slopes of a mountain, giving it a nice view over the castle and a steep valley. We were welcomed by a very kind and helpful host in a cozy reception with a little restaurant and sitting area. The rooms are very nice and atmospheric and ours had a very comfortable bathroom with a shower that worked well. If your tired of your journey and don’t want to venture into the town in search for food, you can have dinner at the hotel for 7JOD. We didn’t to this, but it looked pretty good when I saw other guests eating it. Breakfast (4JOD) is in a large cavernous room beneath the reception. In the winter this room was cold and actually my only critical note for this restaurant, but the breakfast was just fine. I have no doubt that, during the warmer months, the gardens that surround the hotel can be nice to sit in and watch the valley and the castle. All in all the Cairwan hotel for me personally, was a very unexpected but welcoming surprise in an area that (during the winter months) was generally lacking in atmosphere (Kerak castle is definitely a must though).

We were very pleasantly surprised by the Cairwan hotel. We stayed in budget hotels all over Jordan, and this was the cleanest, biggest, and overall nicest room of all of them. Breakfast was good—it costs 4JD extra, but even with that, the overall price was the same as other hotels we stayed in that included breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly the man who checked us in and was around in the evening.

We stayed for just one night so we could visit the castle. I would say this is best for those who are driving, as the castle is quite a walk up a steep hill in the town. We arrived late (about 8:30pm) and the host was incredibly friendly and helpful. The communal area is relaxed and has really interesting decoration. Breakfast was good. The room was clean, but not exactly cosy. The mattress was old and a bit our of shape. I'm not sure what the other rooms are like. The room lights were bright strip lights so I asked if he had a bed-side table lamp. He went away and found one for us so it made the room a little nicer to relax in and read before going to sleep. Our en-suite was massive with about 4 different ways to wash yourself :D but a little smelly. It was a road-side room, so a little noisy, but not enough to really bother us. We were in a room that was accessible from outside the main house. Perhaps the rooms attached to the communal area are nicer - maybe you ask/request when you book? Overall, the host and communal area go a long way to making this a nice place to stay for a night. I hope they might invest a bit into the rooms (or at least our one) as I believe this could be an even better place.
