Stayed at what is known as the New Chagala hotel/residence which is much better then the old place. Rooms are comfy and the staff are great. The business lunch is great value for money and the breakfast is also OK. The best thing about the Chagala is the location near some very good restaurants and bars.

I first stayed here when I was working in Atyrau in 2005 for around a week. This is an old Soviet style building hotel. The rooms are nice & clean. It's location is very good and easy to get around in. The staff are generally good and almost all of them speak good English. As I have been visiting Atyrau now for over 15 years, this hotel is from one of the oldest ones in town and it is generally preferred by Oil&Gas people travelling back and forward from their work locations to their homes for their rotational trips. As brief, clean, good food & staff.

Stayed there for 14 days. I would recommend it as a nice location place. It is 5 min away from Ural river walkway and is 5 min away from restaurants like Barmaglot, Jida, 7k which are very good ones Also 5 min walk to big supermarket "Ideal" Brrakfast is average-good Friendly personnel Room was small and relatively clean. All was fine until I saw a cocrage running at last night stayed there..

While the location is very convenient as it’s surrounded by great restaurants, nice bar and few coffee shops , the maintenance needs to be improved. It took couple times to complain about my broken shower to get it fixed. Last couple nights the AC was not working and keep in mind it’s 100F outside (over 40C). While the management was cooperative and suggested to change the room, I went to the other room but still AC was not at good efficiency. I believe the owner needs to invest more in the maintenance of his place otherwise he will loosen lot of customers.

Whilst the people are friendly and the hotel is clean and modern, we have stayed here 3 times and each time we had major issues. The light bulbs are always not working so that’s the first maintenance call. Then the worst is that in each visit the heating never worked in winter so the room was freezing and in summer the air conditioning never works so it is like living in a sauna. It will take numerous complaints and over 5 days before they finally decide to repair it. If you like living in a freezer or a sauna then you will enjoy it here otherwise I would suggest you look elsewhere.
