I spent three nights in Kicheche Laikipia plateau. The location of the tree tented camp is excellent, being lacated in the central area of Laikipia plateau. Among the 6 tents, 4 have a direct view on a waterhole, where a lot wild animals (e.g.: impalas, warthogs, giraffes, elephants) and birds come to drink during the day . Because the camp is unfenced, you eat and sleep in the middle of the wildlife. The tents are well equipped and clean; the beds are very comfortable. Excellent hospitality of the staff and of the manager Andrew who is the key stone of the lodge. Andrew comes to see you after each safari, asking you how the safari was. Moreover, if you are interested, he can make reservation (if you wish) for activities like lion tracking (with the rangers of the conservancy) and visit to patrolling dogs; these were unforgettable experiences!!! The food is also excellent. The lunch is taken with Andrew and the other guests, which is greatly enjoyable. Andrew talk with the guests of the history, fauna, birds, flora, trees of Laikipia plateau. Indeed, you are immersed in the wildlife surroundings . Moreover, exceptional level of knowledge and competence of the guide Peter, allowing to see many animals (lions, cheetahs, leopard, spotted hyena cugs, bat eared fox cubs, Grevy zebras, reticulated giraffes, Jackson hartebeests...) during morning and afternoon game drives. You can also ask for night game drives, which allowed us to meet serval cat and nocturnal animals (porcupines, zorillas, bushbabies...) Altogether, if you want to have an authentic and unique experience of wildlife, I HIGHLY recommend to stay in Kicheche Laikipia camp.

Stayed here in June 2019, and was very impressed by this camp and conservancy. Kicheche had set the bar high with their Mara offering but Laikipia lived up to expectations. The tents were superb, and food offering very very good just as I had experienced at their Bush camp earlier this year. The camp has a great location over a dam where we had rhinos and giraffes drinking on both our evenings. Game wise, Ol pejeta and Lewa conservancies hands down offer the best rhino viewing you can have in East Africa - we had 26 white rhino on one drive and 7 black rhino on another. We also had good sightings of cheetah and lion and striped hyena was a very nice tick. A must do is visiting the last 2 northern whites, a humbling an emotional experience and the camp managers organised amazing access for us. Thank you! Highly recommend visiting this part of Kenya! It is vastly different from the mara but just as incredible.

We just want to say thank you to Louise, Andrew, and their team, with a special shout-out to Josphat, our guide, for a magical stay at Laikipia. We were only there for two nights but were able to experience two lion prides coming together, two black rhinos mating, and an entertaining stand-off between a cheetah and a secretary bird! Meal times with the other guest were a pleasure, and so were the breakfasts and sundowners in the bush. The bed was comfortable, and the tent had all the facilities to make us feel at home. The hot water bottles at night and on our morning game drives were a specially thoughtful touch that we appreciated very much (it was chilly when we were there). The staffs here at Laikipia and at the Kicheche Valley Camp (where we stayed for another 4 nights) thought of everything to make our safari vacation as comfortable and memorable as possible.

We spent a wonderful 3 nights in the bush camp recently. For an intimate Kenyan bush experience it was absolutely unbeatable. The wonderful staff could not have been more friendly, the food was wonderful, we especially loved the picnic breakfast in the bush. Simon our drive was outstanding. We will definitely go back!

kicheche really lies hiddenin the bush and feel very secluded. The camp is quite small which makes it feel exclusive, which it also is. They have thought of every detail in tent and dining area, sustainability seemed to be lead word. Everyone working here were so involved, cheerful and thoughtful of their guests. Supergood food, Everything was very well managed by Andrew. Ol Pejeta conservancy is a Wonderful place for a safari, with the rhinos but also every other animal, and birds! That you can think of. Our guides were very knowledgeable, Thank you Peter and Peter. Do take the time to visit the Sweetwater Chimpanzee sanctuary, as it is very close by.
