We absolutely loved this camps for many reasons. The staff- Simon, Kennedy, Robert, Lepayon & Nicole- everyone we came into contact with a Sauruni Samburu was lovely.
It was such a pleasure to meet all of you and your warm hospitality is remembered. All Covid guidelines were followed and we felt very safe.
Our game drives were active and we saw all Samburu 5. We had a day where we saw literally 40 Giraffe together and turned around and there were 20 zebra. It was magical.
Lunch down by the river as we watched the elephants cross with their babies- playing in the river. Pride of lions rolling around in a food coma after an ostrich meal.
Lepayon, our guide, was so pleasant to spend our days with tracking the animals and skilled. We hadn't seen a leopard and he found one hiding in the branches as well as her two baby cubs a few bushes over.
The view is amazing and at night star gazing. Simon, Kennedy, & Robert brought out the star laser and showed me the constellations and stories of the stars, beautiful.
The sounds of the animals at night is surreal- lions roaring, elephants and their is a leopard who at times comes to camp. Whom I believe by the sound was out on the rocks one night!
The rooms are a natural setting with a moroccan flare and spacious. The food was fantastic and healthy menu choices at that point in safari was appreciated. We both had the complimentary 1/2 hr massage but extended to an hour. It was so relaxing I decided to stay at the lodge and skip the night game drive to enjoy watching the animals at the watering hole and the views.
This camp is a gem and we would both return again if in Kenya. Would recommend a 3 day stay; plenty of activities to do. We were sad to leave.
To all the staff at Saruni Samburu- Asante Sana
