Because WiFi is important to us (besides the usual things), I asked the hotel management one month (!) in advance of booking whether the problems mentioned on the net regarding the WiFi, were solved. The manager assured us that they were working on it, and that the problems would be solved in the coming days. After that, I booked a room for 5 days, pre-paid, about Euro 1000. In the first room we got, the WiFi did not work (my laptop is first class) and in the second room there was WiFi for just one evening. We did not accept a third room, because that was totally not like the one we had booked. So, I was sitting in the corridor, next to the elevator, every time I wanted to have WiFi receipt. I tried to found out what was wrong (too weak transmitters, thick walls, and such). Also, I found a damaged antenna, close to us. All the time the management assured me that I had signal and WiFi, ignoring the problem. They were arguing with me constantly, whereas the hotel engineer fully agreed with my findings. At one time a WiFi-amplifier was plugged in, in the room, but there was nothing to amplify. Now I write because Denise from Belgium, at the end of July 2019, has experienced the same matters with the WiFi as we have. So, nothing has changed. Also, she writes that there was a problem with the cook(s) for the evening restaurant. That was already the case in the beginning of June (!) 2019. During the day/lunch time, there was no food available at all, although a lunch menu was advertised outside. At check-out time, not a tiny compensation for the problems we encounted, was granted. Back home, I wrote a constructive mail to the owner of the hotel, explaining what measures should be taken to come to an acceptable WiFi-system. I got a nasty letter back, again ignoring the problem. The breakfast was great and the ladies serving it were very kind. The room was nice, as shown on the net and the location of the hotel is good. When you go to this hotel and you want WiFi, be prepared to sit aside the small reception or in the corridor outside your room (for 200 Euro per day); you will see other guests walking around, carrying their open laptop, seeking WiFi receipt. My strong advice is, when you want to go to this hotel: avoid any discussion and confrontation with the management or the owner about any topic whatsoever!

I support previous comments about unfriendly receptionists out of tune with 5-star reception standards, useless restaurant (such a pity for the great location) closed at lunch and only a cheap menu proposed by them for dinner, at exhuberant price to ensure they milk your money at the max. Receptionists and the owner were rude, this is the main reason why we will not return. The view over the city is nice, but you may as well just go for a visit and stay somewhere else.. More types of rooms and prices starting 180 euro for a room with city view were available on booking.com but I chose to book a room via the hotel and the receptionist suggested sunny side (I was dreaming of a 5-star hotel who suggest the best for their visitors). Lo & behold, sunny only in the afternoon, noisy from the cars parking on this side, no view, you had to turn hard to see a line of trees.. We asked to change to city view but they now asked 350 euro for such a room. The hotel promotes deluxe double rooms for 3 people but there is only a large bed (double matress) and a sofa on which one cannot sleep, they have to bring an additional bed which cost extra 50 euro per night. Can a room price get more ridiculous?! As others commented, the evening marks the ugly symphony of all people manually turning their shades down, both shades from balcony (blue and red shades over the terrace, in hotel photos, and window blinds from the room). Poor sound insulation, you can hear neighbours blow their nose.. Coffee cups waiting in the room had coffee traces on the rim.. and so on...

We spent five days in hotel Eden au Lac and we really enjoyed it. The room was clean, the bed comfy, the breakfast tasty with many options, and the staff was so friendly. We especially liked that all facilities were free, like sauna, pool, squash, table tennis... We highly recommend this hotel for a lovely, relaxed stay in Müllerthal!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Hotel Eden au Lac for four nights in July 2019. It is a beautiful old family run hotel in a wonderfully peaceful location overlooking a valley into Germany and the hotel is full of old world charm. It is not one of the many chain corporate hotels that one comes across these days, but a hotel which brings back the finer things not experienced so much these days. Our room on the second floor was really a suite with wonderful views, spotless, well furnished and we slept very well indeed. The restaurant overlooking the terrace and the valley has a very wide menu for all courses including vegan and vegetarian and the tables are covered in crisp white linen and napkins. All of the staff were fist class and nothing was too much trouble The food was excellent, well presented and very reasonable in price. The hotel amenities including the indoor and outdoor pools, whirlpool and sauna were superb and relaxing. I appreciate that some people will always nitpick and look for faults in hotels and restaurants, but we do try and be positive when we can and our enjoyment of the hotel, facilities and the ambience. We will return to enjoy beautiful Luxembourg and this charming hotel.

This was not a professional run hotel at all. Started with the check in. We booked a suite via the hotels online booking. Got a confirmation by mail, but when we arrive they was not able to find it. But after some waiting we got a room. A bit outdated but ok. Price € 300,- + so should be good... . Next step, go to Restaurant for dinner. Not so many guests but waiters running around look as they have no system. Finally we get a table, good. It takes 15 minutes before we can even catch someone to ask for a menu. To make a long story short, the dinner was a disaster. We ordered the hotels best menu for € 64,- pr.pers. It takes about 30 minutes before the first dish comes, the last one we never get. It was so bad and takes so long time that we left after 3 dish. Totally disaster. Mc Donalds is a gourmet Restaurant compred to this. Only good thing, the Riesling picked by the waiter was really good. Will never ever go back there. I promise.
