Stayed in hotel tengkera for 3 days 2 nights during the long May Day weekend. The hotel is centrally located,5 mins walk to the famous Jonker Street haven. Tengkera has very clean rooms, basic but comfortable. The staffs there r exceptionally nice n very helpful. Will definitely stay in this hotel on my next visit to malacca n highly recommend it to others.

Good for traveler, it can be consider as a homestay more than a hotel. It is very near to Jonker Walk. It is also very convenience, there are a lot of food stall nearby. The owner is very caring and enthusiastic, but the only thing that make me not satisfied is maybe that day is too much walk in customers. While we were waiting, he asked and knew that we have make booking via online, so that he let those walk in guest jump the queue and served them first. So we were just kept waiting and waiting until he served all the walk in guest. The room is small and simple room. You may choose the book shared bathroom or private bathroom.

My friends and I went to Melaka for 2 days and stayed in this hotel. We didn't require a lot - just a good location and clean rooms for 2-3 ppl. Hotel satisfied our expectations. Rooms were good, clean and comfortable to stay. Although hotel is more like a homestay, there were showers in each room. It is located near food courts, and at night you can walk a bit and reach the street of bars and restaurants, do some shopping on a big night market. We used a car that time, so I'm not sure whether it's a convenient place for ppl who use public transport. But i'd recommend it for you, once you're in Melaka and are travelling for leisure.

i made last minutes booking during Christmas. I booked 2 family rooms. I think it is homestay instead of hotel. Both rooms are simple but clean. At night, the walkway outside of the rooms are dark. The location is good, near to Jonker walk but we were there during weekdays not weekend. We only stayed there for one night, so it is still acceptable. I would recommend you go to other hotels if you stay more than one night.

I had a pleasant 2 night stay at this hotel which is located at Jalan Tengkera. It's about slightly less than 10 minutes walk to Jonker Street which is great for those who wants to spend more time there. There is also a Hainanese restaurant beside the hotel that opens at night but I didn't get to try it. Further down the road is the famous Putu Piring Tengkera, maybe a 5-8 minutes walk or so. Opposite the hotel is also a food court and they have a stall there that sells really good satay!! For those who are driving from out of town, they have a large parking space beside the hotel. Hotel Tengkera is one of those old houses converted into hotels so don't expect a spanking new building. I stayed in a triple room. The room and toilet was clean which was very important to me. Mattresses were firm, aircond was good, shower had good pressure and basic necessities like towels, shampoo and shower gel were provided. I think you can also borrow things like hairdryer and adapter from the front desk. Though it is located at the main street, rooms are far inside so you can avoid the sound of traffic. There is no water kettle in the room but you can get water from the common area outside. There is also a tv in my room but with just basic channels. The owner and staff were friendly. One thing thought, the wifi is not very stable. Overall, it is good for a short stay if you are on a budget.
