Charming hotel in the heart of Georgetown. Very reasonable price and nice accommodations. Quirky decor. All the amenities you would expect: AC, wi-fi, tv. Nice staff. Did not try the restaurant but it looked good.

This is my 1st time staying at this hotel with my family. Total 6 of us. I booked 1 deluxe room which can accommodate 6 of us all together. They have 1 queen bed and 4 single bed. 2 level of room inside 1 room. Check in process is very convenience. Though we got confuse at first when we arrive. We thought that it is only a cafe, but actually the hotel is at the 1st floor. Check in inside the cafe itself. Car parking for me is not really convenient unless you are lucky to get parking in front/near to the hotel. But if you are checking in during weekend, it is fine to park on both the roadside. Perhaps, better to get advice from the hotel before you park your vehicle. It is not recommended if you have families member who may not be able to climb up the stairs as there is no lift available here. But if you are looking forward to stay at a classic accommodation, Lagenda House is recommended for you. One of the best part of staying here is that, you are able to enjoy breakfast while the cafe is not yet open to public. So, it is like you are having the whole cafe/hotel on your own.

This hotel has a large room and clean. There is a nice cafe in the first floor. But the price is rather expensive. The location is strategic, near the tourist spots. There is also a public place in the hotel where we can sit and read some books and magazines. It's also provided a place for ironing clothes and a water heater.

Was there for 3 days with 2 of my gfs and upon arriving by bus in Penang, we heads down to the hotel just to try our luck if we are able to check in despite knowing it is 6am in the morning. We were surprised that there was no one there and the hotel was closed, as it was pitch dark. We knocked on the door many times make phone calls, where we decided to heads down to have our brekkie and try our luck again later. We find it strange though that the hotel are not operating 24/7 as most hotels does, right? We tried calling the hotel many times, no answer as well which is rather frustrating. We heads back to the hotel close to 830am and found out the hotel only opens at 2pm!! Yes.. 2pm..but managed to have our backpack kept there so we can kill time before we get to check in. Arriving back at 230pm,we were finally check in. I do not deny the service was warmth and they were polite too. One gentleman carried up the stairs our heavyload backpacks up the stairs to our room and we were then usher to our room which was designed super Chinese touché and very old-fashioned where I like it. The door to our room is pretty cool, reminding me of the movie from Mulan! You will be issued a padlocks to lock the door upon leaving your room and a key 'card' to tap when you need to leave or come back after 11pm as the front door of the hotel /house is locked locked up by then so you need to tap the key 'card' to access in /out after that timing. Restroom is a basement down, which is still within our room but stairs down. Not the best washroom, very old touché but manageable but stained flooring. The steps down to the loo is cracking and one of my friend notice one side had given way therefore we have to watch our steps and keep to the right when we need to get down to the washroom. Furnishing seems a little old and flooring in the room creaks as we walked and we somehow fear it might give way. Flooring in our room have open cracked which was covered with carpet. No fresh welcome drinks (mineral water) provided in the room, only water in glass tumbler and water dispenser at the lounge area.Wifi only works till latest 12am and no WiFi after that till 10am where the staffs be in by then and turned on the WiFi which is indeed ridiculous. So we rely more on our data. They clear our room every day but did not change our towels. Our bed flooring is not level as one time I was merely lying down in the mid day, when suddenly I and my gf thought I had broke the bed, only to realised it had slant at one side as the wooden plank that they used to elevate the bed, slide off. So we have them to level it back. This hotel is a hotel cum restuarant, where the restaurant operates at 11am only and closes at 11pm (last order 930pm).Wall was tattoed with Penang legend actor, P. Ramlee and they even had his song (Instrumental) lingering on the air as you enjoyed your plate. An arrays of food in the Menu (fusion, craft mock tails). One things can be improve it, the drilling works going on as early as 8am at the lobby of the hotel making us waking up. We understand that they need to get work done before the restaurant starts operating but it would be great if they can spare some thoughts that they have guests on the house and drilling at the wee hours, hmm.. I don't think it's a wise idea. Another good thing, you can book your next destination by bus at the Recep and pay and extra RM3 to have them picked you up from the hotel lobby to the terminal before you hop on your bus to your destination. One thing to emphasise is, we were waiting for 15mins for a van to pick us up to the Komtar 2 terminal (945am where it suppose to be 930am) where the lady that was there in the morning to set up the place, was not even aware that there was suppose to be a van who will be picking us up,till I start asking as it passed the time. She then start making phone calls where finally it arrived after another 15mins. (10am). Good thing upon arriving at Sungai Nibong, our bus to KL is there, anxiously waiting for us,making it look like it is our fault that makes him wait. Nevertheless, thank you for having us. Appreciated from 🇸🇬

We loved this hotel! The staff are friendly and helpful and the decor is quirky and eclectic. The whole place has character and it’s extremly well located within Georgetown, 10 minutes walk to the Indian quarter. We had fresh towels everyday, free drinking water and breakfast included. It’s obviously not a new building, or a luxury boutique hotel, so expect that. However all the necessities are there such as internet and a/c which both worked well. This is the tenth hotel we’ve stayed in SEAsia and one of our favourites, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
