I did not know this hotel existed. Since it was located in the UCSI campus, it looks impressive from the outside. Went there for a quick lunch. Price was reasonable. Nothing much to choose from a ‘buffet’. Desserts were an extra RM12. Coffee was extra charge too! Service was slow. Not much people skills. Ants were around the dessert area. Hmmmmm, weird that a high class looking hotel acts like a air-conditioned kopitiam.

Road to the hotel was very bad condition. Nothing was described about the million construction in the road. Even Safari has better road . We reached a ghost building as was no bell service , black surroundings... As well receptionist I've never seen his face as he was looking at computer . I wonder how this hotel is surviving

I found this hotel on hotels dot com. In the listing, a fantastic pool was featured. I was really looking forward to lounging by this pool and sunbathing. The listing did mention that this hotel was staffed by hospitality students from UCSI, a premier private University in Malaysia. What the listing didn't mention was that the hotel is actually a posh dormitory, with two floors converted to hotel rooms. The lobby is sleek, with a coffee shop, fine dining style restaurant with great food, ample breakfast buffet, and modest pricing. However, aside from the obvious downside of being in a dormitory with partying college students, the campus is spread out over several locations. This means that the swimming pool, fitness center, sky lounge, are located some distance away from the hotel. The swimming pool is located at North campus, a ten minute drive/taxi from the dorm/hotel. Desperate for some sunbathing, I took a chance and went out there. Children and adults were having swim classes, leaving only one portion of a lane open for a swim. Parents of the children seemed scandalized by my sunbathing. I'm a little plump, but was in a modest one piece suit. To be fair, sunbathing is an underappreciated artform in Malaysia. It was pretty obvious that most students, and parents of the younger ones, were unaware that hotel guests were permitted to use the pool. It was not as relaxing as it could have been if it we're truly a hotel pool. There were no lounge chairs, so I had to make due with the bare concrete & my beach blanket. Also, there were no lockers to safely store belongings. If you want to use the fitness center, you must book an appointment with the reservation desk in advance. It's located somewhere on the campus across the highway. There's a skybridge to walk over there, but no one has been able to give me solid directions. I don't like feeling like an intruder on campus, so will probably not use it. The laundry service is a bit pricey (per item charges), especially considering the lower rates or kg the students pay. It's a great chance for hospitality students to learn. For example the incredible fit I pitched upon check-in with the non-refundable prepaid 9 nights that I'd already invested, only to discover the pool was at a different location - that was certainly a lesson on what happens when you lie/mislead tourists in the advertisement. The first room I was put in had a sour rotten apple stench in the closets. They had installed an automatic air freshener that was set too high. Between the chemicals sprayed in the air & stench, it was difficult to sleep. Around midnight the second night, I couldn't take it anymore and asked the front desk to turn off the air freshener. The offered to move me to the executive suite, which is a lot quieter and very nice. It had a real queen bed instead of the two twin beds side by side in the previous room. It's clear the suite is really two dorm rooms combined to have a kitchenette, full fridge, sink, tea kettle, sofa seating with coffee table, all in an adjoining room to the spacious bedroom. As a retired professor, being back on campus gives me mixed feelings. Half of me wants to indulge in the campus lifestyle. But the environmentally aware part of me knows I'm an outsider and it will just be awkward like the pool experience. If I had known the truth, I wouldn't have booked here. That being said, if they were more honest about the facilities and the arrangements, I'm sure they wouldn't have trouble keeping the place booked. If you have realistic expectations, in general, you're happier as a guest. I'm mollified, but still displeased as I really need my sunshine/sunbathing time.

I checked in on the 3rd Feb and paid at the reception. The place was a maze.. Can't imagine getting out alive in case of an emergency. Upon entering the room we wanted to leave immediately. It was foul-smelling and the stench was unbearable. We then approached the reception and the lady confirmed that she will void the sale and allow us to cancel without being charged. Since she was not able to void it on the spot, she said that she would and call me once it has been done. It has been more than a week and I have not heard back from the hotel. I have called the bank and they have confirmed that I was charged for the room. I have called the hotel many times and either my calls were unanswered or I get a simple reply 'yes, it has been charged', 'yes, charged already'..I hope an authorized person from the hotel will be able to help me resolve this matter..

Appears to be relatively new. Room and toilet are somewhat small but for the price we pay, it is fair. The signposting for the room is not good. Room 02 is not shown and one has to second Guess which Wing is the room located. There is no phone Directory in the room and one needs to ask the receptionist. There is only one receptionist who was not always at his desk. But he is very friendly, apologetic and helpful in doing service recovery. The door open button in one of the lift is missing. Overall considering that it is used in part for training students in hospitality, it is acceptable.
