I was there for an academic research with an Associate Professor, and they were most welcoming to our questions about their home culture.
The airport was in close vicinity of the homestay, and a drive out to the city took maybe 5-10 minutes or so. Just outside the housing area outside the homestay is the beach--lined up with shack restaurants that serve fresh supplies from the sea.
Teluk Ketapang Homestay is perfect for those who wish to immerse themselves in the culture and learn more about Terengganu. There will be guidance every step of the way, and the hosts will show you around, just make a request and they will suggest activities for you.
Our room was air-conditioned (yes!) and spacious, they provided towels and kept the bathroom clean, so the stay was very comfortable throughout. The hosts and villagers are open to tourists and are happy to assist and answer questions, making it a very pleasant social experience for us.
