I always travel for my birthday and this was my first time in Casablanca. Firstly I want to say is that I had read the reviews after I booked on Expedia. When we arrived we were greeted by Rachid, he was helpful and spoke to us in English and Spanish, which is our native languages. The Riad is approximately 25 to 30 minutes from the airport depending on traffic. The approximate cost is approximately 250 Dirham which is $25. If you get picked up at airport by a random taxi driver it will cost you between $45 and $50 USD. I suggest you send a message to Dar Diafa and have them send a cab for you so your not struggling to get a cab. The reason I say struggle is because cab drivers are not the same there as here and most will tell you no on bringing you where you want to go because they want to stay within in certain route. I suggest once you arrive at Dar Diafa that you schedule your taxi rides with the Dar Diafa staff to ensure you have a taxi and a reasonable fare. Dirham rate was 9.50 per US $1.00. Make sure you check the rates daily.
For breakfast at Dar Diafa you can tell them what you want the night before. You will be served a Moroccan breakfast of different typical Moroccan breads, jam, juice, tea, coffee and cheese. My husband likes eggs sunny side up and I suggest you try the Shoshuka for breakfast.
We had the vegetarian Tagine and it was delicious, I highly recommend having dinner there because the food is delicious and fairly priced equal to the upscale restaurants in Morocco.
