Creel House Bed and Breakfast

Beautiful view of lake from top floor bedroom with balcony. Private, clean and quiet room. Hosted by Rosemary who provided us with a very nice breakfast both mornings we were there. It's a short walk down the hill to the village.

Our stay at Creel House was very spontaneous as we had to reroute through Tekapo due to road floodings on our original path. We could have not been luckier with the B&B and the location. The hosts are so welcoming and nice and made our stay a real pleasure. The breakfast was fantastic as were their tipps on what to do in the area. First night we had this room with a gorgeous view of lake Tekapo. The second night we stayed a floor beneath in an also spacious, perfectly clean and cosy room. Tekapo itself is such a beautiful place with a lot to do in the area.

We were warmly greeted by Rosemary upon arrival. We were a party of 3 and had booked the 2 rooms upstairs. The master has a separate bathroom but the views from it are exceptional! The other room has its own ensuite and has 2 single beds. Tea and coffee making facilities are located on the same floor between the 2 rooms. There is a staircase from the car park up to the house and another internal staircase to the top floor. The interior staircase is narrow if, like us, you are touring around the South Island for a couple of weeks with large suitcases. Certainly doable. As others have indicated location is perfect for exploring the area and the breakfast is very good too. Rosemary and Grant were wonderful hosts, sharing lots of stories/insights about the area and NZ in general. Happily stay here again when next we visit the area.

We spent only one night at Lake Tekapo, which isn’t much but glad we did. Beautiful. Climbed Mt John and visited the magical tiny church by the lake. Rosemary and Grant run a splendid nice little B&B, from where we stared at the stars at night - magic. They gave good advice on things to do nearby and serve a stunning breakfast accompanied by interesting conversations. Thank you so much, Marie and Mathias

Beautiful cozy b&b in a peaceful neighbourhood. Room and bathroom were very clean with all we needed. Bed was also comfy. Rosemary was very kind and helpful with our questions . And a memorable breakfast was the highlight of our stay! Thank you :)
