The Godley Hotel is well positioned for walking everywhere you need to go in Tekapo. We had a lakefront room which was tired, but very clean. They do offer renovated rooms, but, at the time of writing this review, these are not lakefront. I chose view over new! The beds were not super comfortable, but not terrible either. Being an older building the noise insulation was not good. The service was friendly. I felt the cost was fair to the stay.

Our rooms were in upstairs room in accommodation block closest to lake with great view for first night then on return in main (original) hotel building which has reception and restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and neat. The accommodation block room is ready for refurbishment- which had been done in the main building room we stayed in (also with terrific views of the lake and church). Quiet, easily accessible, and good value for room rate

Staff were courteous and helpful. Room was tidy and clean. However, it is small and dark. Basic amenities, with no aircon (room gets quite hot) or even a fan in the bathroom. Time for some upgrading of the property as paint is peeling in the room. Perhaps not the first choice in town.

Stayed with family (2 adults 2 kids). Staff were friendly and cafe Jack Rabbit was inside the hotel which was convenient for food and coffee. Location to the church and the lake was convenient but that's about it. Would probably stay somewhere else for the price as there were quite a few hotels around that area.

Stayed for one night in a refurbished room. Everything we needed there,(extra handy having usb ports next to beds!) and found staff were incredibly friendly. So close to everything ... walk to Good Shepherd Church/shops etc. Jack Rabbit Restaurant attached to complex also great when we needed to just recharge with a coffee when we arrived and breakfast the next day
