I stayed at this hotel as part of a weekend yoga retreat for 2 nights. Even though this was the first time the hotel organized such an event -with minor hiccups- the total experience was just wonderful. The hotel itself is amazing, the perfect combination of modern and historic. Kudos to the interior designer who obviously respects the walls from the 1700s but managed to make this a top-comfy environment. The hotel restaurants (one by the water and the other in the back garden surrounded by the various historic buildings) were top notch. The service was professional but friendly at the same time (a find in Norway by the way) - and that food! We had the pleasure to meet and thank the head chef, #DaveCook in person. Triple gin tonic caviar anyone? Just WOW. This is a gem of a place. Just go!

Stayed at the Tollboden Hotel in the delightful town of Krageo for3 nights No wonder Edvard Munch did some of his most interesting paintings here the old wooden buildings small roads and alleys and the most exquisite light The hotel was excellent Staff super helpful Excellent English Restaurant and chef first class Produced a wonderful 4 course vegetarian meal on our first night Recommend highly Susan Sims

We loved loved loved this small hotel. Such a cool and stylish place! Everybody was very friendly and helpful, not only regarding hotel-related questions but also when it came to questions regarding the surroundings and daytime trips. Hotel Tollboden also runs a restaurant right by the water which is charming and offers great food choices (and drinks, too). Perfect stay for us!

I stayed at Hotel Tollboden this week from 17 - 19 June on business. The hotel was very nice, the room amazing and very helpful and friendly staff. Kragerø is also a magnificent place and in the evening I took a 1 hour tour of the islands in a water taxi arranged by the hotel. This was wonderful. I would highly recommend this hotel

We were offered a beautiful suite on «lille julaften», few guests, modern sleek design throughout the hotel in quiet charming streets decorated with beautiful Christmas lights, Kragerø. Excellent host and restful sleep in best hotel bed ever. Delightful breakfast and gracious host. Highly recommend to book suite for both out of country tourists as well as in country local Norwegians :-)
